Stitch n' Pitch is a way to bring together the needle arts and America's past time, baseball. Sponsored by The National NeedleArts Association, Stitch n' Pitch is coming to Citi Field on June 5th. Bring your knitting, crochet, embroidery or any other needle arts project and cheer on the New York Mets when they take on The Florida Marlins. Needle artists of all skill levels are encouraged to join in on the fun. You'll need to purchase a ticket the event but the cost is only $19 per seat.
This year, Stitch n' Pitch is trying to set the Guinness record of "Most People Crocheting Simultaneously." Hooks and yarn will be handed out prior to the game as well as lessons on how to crochet. You'll need to show up early to participate and purchase a ticket prior to attending. For ticket information contact Christina Andrews at 718-559-3069 and candrews@nymets.com. This sounds like so much fun! I hope they break the record. Can we expect a review to follow up?
I am hoping to attend! You know I do crochet like a champion. However, we did make plans for that day prior to my knowing about the event. I'm still waiting to see if I can do both. :) Go Mets!
