Meditation Village is about one thing- learning and supporting a meditative practice. If you lack qualified meditation instructors where you live, this online program may be a good fit for you. It is thorough, convenient and the cost of the subscription is reasonable considering the amount of experienced advice you have at your fingertips.
Their Mindfulness Program is designed to be started at any stage of development as a support for a regular practice. Experienced meditators who wish to bring their practice to the next level can start with Step 3 if they wish.
Key to this program is involvement with experienced meditators and the support forum, combined with multi-media instructional materials. In the forum you can ask questions freely and discuss the varying aspects of meditation and mindfulness with other members, supporting a lasting meditative practice. The group encourages sitting in meditation at the same time, but this is not a requirement for the program.
Beginners can begin with step one, which includes six audio files and contains instructions on being calm and focused for the subsequent 21 days. This level of subscription also gives access to the support forum and additional support materials to review. Step 2 is designed to build a lasting practice and includes 11 audio files and instructions on Metta meditation, amongst others, and provides access to further materials and the support forum. The last step contains advanced meditation instruction.
The Village Blog also has a number of interesting topical posts to help your practice develop and encourage examination of one's experience. The key to this program is the community; the more people participate, the better the program will become.
