Patrick Murphy: The "Blue Dog" of Bucks County lays down and plays dead.

Congressman Patrick Murphy was one of the 220 votes for HR 3962, Pelosi's Healthcare Plan.  In spite of many protests at his office and clear opposition in the Eighth Congressional District, Murphy in the end still voted for the plan.  He will pay in 2010.  It is also notable that Murphy did not even have the courage to have a real townhall meeting.  He did everything via telephone conference calls.

Murphy claims he is a, "moderate" although he constantly votes with the extreme left of the Democrat party.  He has a 100% rating with NARAL (National Abortion Rights Action League).  He also voted for the Stimulus bill.  He has a D+ rating from the NRA.  He is an extremist.

Murphy has shown the people of Bucks County that he cares more about himself then he does about representing his district.  He bowed down and kissed the rings of Obama and Pelosi.  His day to pay for this vote starts now.  His final price will be his Congressional seat in 2010.

Yesterday in an exclusive interview with Congressman Joe Wilson, he said that the question wasn't whether there was enough votes to pass HR 3962 but whether or not the blue dogs would be lap dogs.  Well, Congressman Murphy turned out to be a lap dog by not having the courage to truly represent the sentiments of his district on healthcare.

Well, at least we can give him credit for standing by his convictions...this is just another example of how he clearly does not wish to be re-elected. Have called and written his office so many times(and I'm not the only one), and obviously he just does not care about what his constituents want. Fine with me...can't wait to give him his walking papers.

There is NOTHING "Blue Dog" about Congressman Murphy's voting record. There is not one single spending, stimulus, bail-out bill that didn't receive a "yes" vote from Murphy. He is no fiscal moderate, nor has displayed any modicum of fiscal responsibility when it has come down to being a good steward of our public tax dollars. Spending our way out of debt makes no sense. "Deficit neutral" is just rhetorical sleight of hand....what Murphy means is that our government will dramatically increase taxes in order to "cover" the dramatic, nation-altering budget-busting government spending. The Democrats mean higher taxes for more spending...and we still won't be able to meet the debt obligations we've already incurred.

Calling someone an "extremist" for voting for health care reform that a majority of representatives voted for is rather ridiculous. Perhaps you should buy a dictionary before you continue the inflammatory rhetoric, if only to sound slightly more credible.

The "Blue Dog" coalition has become a joke and to most more of a disgrace than a constructive element of the legislative branch. Why not just declare Republican rather than masquerade as Democrats? Why not just admit being obstructionist to any sort of progress? Trust me, the Blue Dogs who voted NO to health care reform (and it was a bill YOU were supposed to help create, remember?) are the ones who will have a very hard time come re-election time. You might trying getting those facts straight.

Dex- you must live in a predominantly progressive/liberal district. Congressman Murphy ran his campaign on small government fiscal conservativism. He has betrayed the hard working self reliant middle class Americans who elected him.

I think Congressman Murphy does a great job. Instead of boring us with your banalities about how he is an "extremist" because he doesn't suck up to the NRA and the fact that NARAL likes him, why don't you point out that, among other accomplishments, he secured $400,000 to Bristol Township Police for anti-crime surveillance cameras and $10 million for flood relief along Neshaminy Creek, as well as his sponsorship of a “Truth In Tuition” bill to make college costs transparent?

He did what most people have been demanding of our Representatives for a looong time. He stood up to the special interests who were throwing freaking gobs of money around. THATS what it looks like to us. This is PA. Rush Limbaugh and his ilk are not exactly as popular as you seem to think he is. Peddle your junk politics someplace else.

Since my Representative from PA voted no on the stimulus I contacted his office repeatedly to make sure no stimulus money would be used in his district and no jobs resulting from the stimulus money be allowed in his district. I told him to have the courage of his convictions and follow through on his vote. I was never contacted by anyone in his office. His name is the "Pitts". (FYI- Yes I was being sarcastic!) I also contacted Joe Lieberman and asked how he can support hundreds of millions of dollars of aid to Israel when they have a government run health system. I also asked him if any of the aid that we give them goes to their government run healthcare. Again I received no answer. (Sarcasm intended)
As for Ms Linder remember the NRA is a one trick pony (I am a life long hunter and am not a member of the NRA) I called and emailed them when our fourth amendment rights were under assault during the "Bush" years and received no response.

Murphy lied to his district. He ran as a Blue Dog, and talked a lot of people into voting for him, selling himself as a fiscal conservative. He even had a slice of his district he nicknamed "the Murphy Margin" because it was Republican leaning and went for him. He should realize that Bush anger is gone, and has proven he votes liberal. The only thing that is needed is a GOP candidate who is strong. Any takers, because there is a district that will vote for you!
