Climategate: How it affects the globe

Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chair Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., left, talks to committee member Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, Nov. 3,2009, during the committee's markup on the Climate Change legislation.

Skeptics questioned global warming but scientists  said, "Trust us," especially those at the East Anglia Climate Research Unit.  We all new that climate change was questionable but no one could prove why because the "experts" were saying that there actually was an increase in temperatures.  Now we find out that data actually was dumped.

Global warming data has wreaked havoc on the world.  We now have our President going to Copenhagen to sign a Climate change bill.  We have a Cap-and-Trade bill that a handful of companies who want to rule the world are in favor of.  Most of all, we have Environmental groups who get money and grants from the US Government to support Climate change awareness and Global Warming awareness.  Like $1,100,000 so Drew University could have a global warming awareness film festival or who could forget the ever famous and failed, "Cash for Clunkers."

So much money has been spent on Environmental initiatives to prevent, "Global Warming"  and we find out it is all bunk.  So what is going to happen now?  Earth day will still be celebrated.  Al Gore will still spout off and make his bogus movies.  The tree huggers will all go on like this never happened.

Why?  Their real agenda is not Global Warming or a better environment.  Environmentalists real agenda is power.  More money and more power.  Put more regulation on evil corporations.  So much regulation that they cannot compete.  Then, the economy goes into the toilet and Socialism is installed when everyone is hurting.  It is  so typical it is cliche.  The real environmentalist agenda is Socialistic.  More government, more regulation, more, more, more.

The new information out of CRU just shows what should be done.  Scrap Copenhagen and Scrap Cap-and-Trade and move on.

Spelling boy says, pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! Focus on spelling mistakes instead.

Al Gore and his Communist ilk are attempting to destroy the American economy with evil lies. Gore should be deported and never allowed to return to the country he has been trying to ruin for decades.

Agreed any policy based on fraudulent science is in itself fraudulent policy. Copenhagen will create the carbon footprint of a country all so the green bureaucracy can wine n dine themselves and do nothing for the environment.

Damn sick of bad people. Why don't smart good people take a stance and when things get tough with difficult people around, DON'T GIVE UP AND WALK AWAY!! This is what is causing the problem. All the good people leave places of power when they get fed up with dumb people and all that is left is the losers running the world.

    Hi DAn,

The answer to your question is easy. In about five minutes I have to go off to work in a tier I automotive factory. In the factory I don't get paid to raise someone else's "awareness." I don't get a day off to go vote. Pretty much an endless list.

On the other hand, here in the US, teachers and pretty much all other government employees get a day off to vote. Public education in the US is nothing more than twelve or thirteen years of state mandated babysitting and social indroctrination.

That's a slice of the pie answer to how stuff like this happens.

Doreen, you nailed it! That is why GE has forced NBC and their affilliates to push Obama and AGW, they stand to make a lot of money on their green energy initiatives. I very glad the CRU emails came out and showed what most of us skeptics knew years ago, the books have been cooked and the GCM's are tweaked to produce the answers the AGW promoters wanted. We must keep this in front of the US public to stop Copenhagen and Cap-n-Tax!

Clearly, most of the emails leaked have been hugely misrepresented and taken entirely out of context. Clearly some of them reveal some quite dodgy science.

But to be honest, this article's response is poorly thought trough, and frankly terrifying. When Ms Linder can find a single creditable peer-reviewed scientific paper that actually debunks global warming, I may become a skeptic. "Climategate" does not change the truth, nor does it change the vast body of evidence behind global climate change.
Ranting about 'Socialism' is pointless. Government schemes like 'Cash for Clunkers' weren't environmentally motivated - it was part of stimulus money that helped people like FTM keep their jobs in the car industry.

You're not just fiddling while Rome burns, you're going out and smashing up the fire engines! Please reconsider this madness.

Corporations are 100% self-interested. That makes them dangerous. We need them to be regulated. Why don't we deregulate self-interested individuals? Um, because they're pathologically dangerous, that's why. Anti-regulation ideology does absolutely nothing for this country. We'd be smart to realize that multi-national corporations (every Fortune 500 company) have interests that are completely separate from the interests of any one nation or any one population. We, as citizens of the US, should rethink our loyalty to multi-national corporations. To them we are disposable. We should be looking out for number one which means enforcing regulations on companies that operate within our borders. Selling goods and services on the US market is not a right. It's a privilege that should be contingent on positive corporate behavior. I'm so tired of hearing working-class people defend the "right" of corporations to pay crappy wages, evade taxes, use child labor abroad, etc. It makes no sense.
