New York Times' columnist David Brooks filed a column this morning about how Bruce Springsteen taught him so much about real life and emotions, all outside the parameters of what we traditionally value as education. His thoughts obviously spurred by attending last Friday's concert in Baltimore with his children. He usually writes from a pretty conservative viewpoint and he's already getting comments from other publications and writers about how his body of work doesn't always coincide with the principles Bruce Springsteen sings of. Still, this is a well-written essay that many Springsteen fans can identify with, in one way or another.
