What is the real agenda behind the Tea Party

The division of the Republican Party has finally hit a boiling point. A third party has emerged promising a better future for all conservatives. In August of this year the “Tea Party” registered as an official Party here in Florida, joining a collection of about 30 odd minor Parties.

Republicans should be outraged. Was a lesson not learned in NY-23, or has the election already left the minds of concerned Republicans? Owens, the Democrat, won the race with 61,666 votes over Hoffman of the Conservative Party, who garnered 57,073. The Republican who dropped out of the race, Scozzofava, earned 6,976 votes. Ironically if you were to add the totals of both Hoffman and Scozzofava it would total 64,049, which would have led to a Conservative/ Republican victory. However, with the division and creation of a third party, the votes were divided.

Now, a Tea Party has formed in the state of Florida. Does it make sense that someone who is truly conservative would want to divide the Republican votes? How does this keep democrats from continuously taking seats?

America is a country where people are constantly trying to better themselves financially. The get rich quick scams are proof of that. Interesting enough, we are also a society based on the internet and if you let your fingers guide you, the truth can be revealed. Let’s talk about some truths.

Truth 1: The creator of the Tea Party is an Orlando based attorney named Frederic O’Neal.

Truth 2:  Frederic O’Neal donated $500 on September 17th 1992 to the Democrat National Committee (DNC)

Does this truly sound like an individual fighting for the Conservative cause or could it be just another get rich quick scam? It seems that O’Neal is preying on the fears of Republicans; the fear of one day waking up in a socialist America.

Fear causes people to believe a little harder, to look for a cause that can change the outcome of the future.  It is both possible and plausible for someone to see the weakness in men and try to capitalize on this fear for one’s own benefit.  One has to wonder if the Tea Party was created to scam the Republican mindset, to divide the Conservative vote and keep the liberal agenda on the docket.

Earlier this week a facebook status read:  “So many people have asked-I just got the mailing address for THE TEA PARTY for those who want to send donations: The TEA PARTY, PO Box 842 Windermere Florida 34786.Fred O’Neals phone is 407-xxx-xxxx. FYI”

Yes folks, keep sending your money to this 3rd Party. To a Party that is dividing the Republican vote and a Party that is helping with the facilitation of election victories for Democrats.

At this point in time, let us as Republicans remember and take note of the 1768 John Dickenson’s “Liberty Song” in which he states “united we stand, divided we fall”.

The bottom line is Republicans should be uniting and working together. We need to support open primaries (unlike the case in NY-23) and put forth statesmen that will represent the Party as a whole. Enough of the whining from people who are upset with GOP leadership then using a cop-out excuse to form a new Party. Instead stand up and get involved. Run in your local REC's, run for RPOF chair, run for RNC chair if you truly feel you can do a better job. Forming a political party that solely serves to divide our votes is not beneficial for Republicans but for the Democrats, as they will begin to win seats with much ease through our division.

Sheela, you rock! Your last paragraph says it all: "The bottom line is Republicans should be uniting and working together. The tea party movement has been hijacked by organized elements of the GOP, plus some Dems who want to divide the GOP. Unlike the author, I'm not so against 3rd party movements. Used correctly they can force the 2 main parties to address issues that they would have never otherwise. The Free Silver/Greenback movement in the late 19th century forced the two parties to take up monetary policy reform. Ross Perot's reform party forced the two major parties to address the deficit, which neither the R's or the D's were willing to take up. Frankly, I don't blame people for expressing themselves through this movement. When they see their tax-dollars spent by the trillions on bailouts for politically connected banks and industries, under BOTH the Obama and Bush administrations, no doubt people are going to get angry. Debt is the big issue here. Neither party is representing the people and perhaps a strong 3rd party movement will force the two parties to be better stewards of the public's money.

It's worse than you indicate Sheela. The "Tea Party" party guys are also running the gubernatorial campaign of Paula Dockery. They're threatening the actual TEA Party groups and trying to get them to stop using the name. There are lawsuits coming and it's going to get ugly.

So all of those who ferar socialism & communism can you prove that these movements are a live and well in the U.S. Government. Did we as Americans wake up in 2010 and realize that Red Scare came back. Hey if you want to sell your selfs out to a party who dose not give a damn about you thats your choice. In the end all they really want is to turn us into a Third World Country were there is only Rich & Poor.
