Simon Cowell’s brother says the next season of American Idol will be the judge’s last. Tony Cowell said in his podcast, “The Cowell Factor,” that a statement was being prepared that would certify that the British judge was leaving the Fox singing competition at the end of 2010. It was only a couple of months ago that Paula Abdul announced she was not returning to American Idol. She has since been replaced by talk show host and comedienne Ellen Degeneres.
Simon Cowell plans to concentrate on bringing his U.K. talent show, The X Factor to the U.S. next year, his brother said on the podcast (which has since been removed.) A Fox spokeswoman had no comment. And, messages left for Cowell’s spokesman were not immediately returned.

Cowell has had tremendous success with The X Factor in the U.K. where Joe McElderry was named the winner in December 2009. Leona Lewis won in 2006 and recently sang the theme song “I See You” for James Cameron’s movie, “Avatar,” which has been the leader in the box office for the last 2 weeks, earning more than $75.6M domestically.

You have the wrong picture for Joe Mcelderry, your showing Olly Murs
Uh... that's embarrassing. People really should do research before they write about stuff they know nothing about. The photo is of Olly Murs, X Factor 2009 runnerup, not Joe McElderry. If Simon leaves American Idol, its over for Idol, especially if Simon brings X Factor over. I'd rather watch XF anyway.

Thanks for changing the photo, Donna. But, Hon... if you think Olly Murs looks anything like Joe McElderry, you need an eye checkup. LOL!
If I can make a suggestion here... There are lots and lots of clips of X Factor on YouTube. X Factor even has a channel there with clips. Check them out when you have time. That way, you'll have a better idea of what your writing about and can make an accurate assessment.
