The Importance of Intentions in Healing

DreamHealer has funded large-scale scientific projects, which have recently shown interesting results with respect to intentions.

The main purpose of these projects was to measure the effect of a group’s intention sent from a distance to one individual receiver. After analyzing the data, the results were astounding. This research showed that intentions sent to one individual  influence their brainwaves resulting in measurable changes seen on a Electroencephalography (EEG).

The first Global Intention Heals Project on November 8th, 2009 focused on the EEG data obtained when a large number of people focused their intentions on one individual. This was a global project where more than 10,000 people focused their intentions using a specific DreamHealer visualization on one individual (Christine). Christine had no awareness as to when the participants would send their intentions.

The results from this project were outstanding. A Quantitative EEG analysis easily identified a significant change in her brain wave patterns during the time interval that the intentions were sent. As a consequence of receiving the intentions, Christine has noticed many improvements in her health since participating in this experiment.

With all the excitement from the first project, DreamHealer decided to setup a second project with tighter scientific controls in place. We got advice from several well-known scientists about how to refine this second project. Rather than having people around the world participating, it was felt that the data would be more meaningful if we could identify precise randomized intention intervals from one group.

On May 30, 2010 this controlled experiment was carried out with 900 participants from an Intention Heals workshop in Vancouver. Two different 5-minute intention intervals were randomly selected for analysis in this double blind experiment. The EEG data from the experiment mirrors Adam McLeod’s observation that the intention senders were more focused during the second interval, as it was readily identified.

Upon analyzing the Q- EEG data, the researcher Dr. Sheldon Lewkis stated, “An interesting change is the appearance of Schumann resonances-- a feature that is not normally considered to be an aspect of the resting state EEG (i.e., the state of the subject during recording in this study).” Previous studies point to some association of this feature with remote healing and individuals engaged in psychic activity.

Both experiments clearly show that brainwaves of one person can be altered by the intentions sent from another. Our physiology is affected not only by our own thoughts, but by the intentions of those around us as well. The Intention Heals Projects promote a global community of healing, where the healers and the healees interact through the sending and receiving of intentions. The research from this project reinforces the scientific framework to maximize physical outcomes through the power of our own, harnessed focused intentions.
