Disney starlet Brenda Song will be heading to Baltimore to shoot Columbia Pictures' The Social Network alongside Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake next week. The film is about the founding of the popular social networking site, Facebook and the wide obstacles the founders went through in their college years which include ''sex, money, manipulation, drugs and betrayal.''
The film began filming this month in Boston's Harvard University campuses and will start filming at John Hopkins University 's Homewood campus next week. Hopkins will be set as Harvard Universiry and the film will return to Los Angeles in November and wrap up in February.
The film's location manager Bill Doyle, says that Hopkins has never been used to play Harvard and it was not the obvious choice. But the suggestion that Hopkins could "cheat" for Harvard came from within the "Social Network" team.
Doyle alse says the relationships Fincher and Doyle had developed with the Maryland and Baltimore film offices, along with Hopkins' cooperation, made the decision to come to Baltimore easy once they began scouting here.
Aaron Sorkin wrote the film's script which is based on Ben Mizrich's critically acclaimed novel, The Accidental Billionaires. The film's production team plans on employing 75-80 of Hopkin's local crew from Sunday to Wednesday. Song, who recently attended the premiere of Michael Jackson's ''This Is It'', will also star in the upcoming 2010 feature film, Boogie Town.
