Regarding the Renewable Energy award category, the EE Times ACE Award website states:
"There are plenty of ideas out there and venture capital chasing new ideas. This award will go to the company that is closest to deploying renewable energy sources that offer the quickest return on investment and lower carbon footprint."
The noble gas engine by PlasmERG, Inc, with just five moving parts, would allegedly cost 1/3 what a regular engine of comparable output would cost. Meanwhile, its fuel cost is negligible – we're talking ten dollars a month for a home power generator. The motor is kind of like a Stirling engine – a sealed system – except that the expanding component is internal, and comes by way of a plasma form of inert, noble gasses, which are not consumed in the process, and which are environmentally benign anyway.
According to the company website, the most important component in the system is the electronic control system (ECS) that makes it all work, hence qualifying it as a technology of note for this electronics award by EE Times. Without this flexible controller the general motor design, coming up with the proper noble gas mixtures, and the gas processor to make the fuel would be for nothing. This ECS is a multiple microprocessor, embedded system design with the processor sharing functions in real time based on engine and speed requirements, covered in the PlasmERG patent.
John Rohner, who got involved in the Papp technology in 1981, has rediscovered the process and been able to resurrect and improve Papp's old technology. PlasmERG has a patent filed and is close to obtaining this patent on extensions and other improvements to the older Papp International patents, now void. PlasmERG, where John Rohner sits as the Chief Technology Officer, is presently working on building beta test units as well as preparing for licensing the technology to other manufacturers and production jointly with companies in Canada and China, and soon with many others as well.

Also it may be a good idea to post all the photos on the Peswiki page. I was having trouble paging through them on Examiner. Please include hi res photos of the schematic, board, etc.
When it comes to energy devices, nothing is more believable than when the inventor destroys his own credibility.
John, you say that PlasmERG has patents in progress for all your technology. Yet nothing shows up when I search on the USPTO site. No results either in issued patents or patent applications. Tried searching under Inventor Name Rohner, Assignee Name PlasmERG, etc. Even searched on Inventor State IA (Iowa), nada.
Have you actually filed the non-provisional applications, or only provisional applications? As you know the provisional is only a "place holder" to establish dates of claims and the non-provisional must be filed within 1 year. USPTO only really starts looking at the contents once the non-provisional is filed.

I've removed both of your comments from this as it was making you both look awful, going at it like that. In the future, I recommend that you keep your fighting private; and if you must, then do it in the court room, but I would hope it wouldn't have to come to that.
I usually don't delete comments. This is very unusual.
If there is anything to be learned from the John and Bob comments, it is that there has been some very serious investment of time, dollars (millions) and years in bringing the Papp legacy to fruition. It was unfortunate that in addition to Josef Papp's genius, Papp was also invested considerably in the energy of "fear".
One would hope that in moving forward this could be "remodeled" into the concepts of trust, win-win, and cooperation. Everyone playing a part in this puzzle has some unique gift or talent to offer. The new energy is about riding that synergy. Not about power-over and control.
I could not find any patents or patent applications at USPTO either. I tried searching under inventor name John Rohner and Rohner, as well as under abstract using numerous words and phrases such as plasmic transition or plasma transition. They say they have patented the controller but couldn't find anything related to it.

The patent is going through a slightly different path & may not be public for another month or so. The reason, simply, my brothers have threatened to attack it & they may have a provisional, filed 5 months after ours. Our patent attorney wishes to let them get their REAL patent filed without using ours as a "starting point". If you would like a copy of our provisional, which is part of the filing drop me an Email.

Actually, the first thing that should be learned is do not fail to sue your family if you would anyone else who does the same. I should have taken Bob to court over a year ago for his libel & slander as I would have any outsider. But because he was my brother, just sent a warning letter. Not a mistake that will be made again. I also felt a need to correct his comments, which I will not again.
