The MYT™ Engine as a pump/compressor purportedly exceeds existing pumps/compressors in providing massive pressure, volume, and flow -- all in one unit. This attribute makes it ideal for geothermal energy, among many other such applications. The Tesla Corporation, LLC has drilled a well on which to test this out.

The MYT (Massive Yet Tiny) Engine by inventor Raphial Morgado, is an award-winning internal combustion engine of new design that features multiple firings in one cycle, producing enormous torque in a small area. With 40 times higher power to weight ratio, low parts count, low maintenance, high mechanical efficiency, and low pollution, the MYT™ Engine could benefit airplane, big ship, 18 wheeler, SUV, passenger car, or power generator applications.
The MYT™ Engine as a pump/compressor also purportedly exceeds existing pumps/compressors in providing massive pressure, volume, and flow -- all in one unit. This attribute makes it ideal for geothermal energy harnessing as well as for wind power storage and retrieval via compressed air; among a long list of potential applications.
Geothermal Application
For that reason, Morgado has been successful in talking one renewable energy company, The Tesla Corporation, LLC, into using his system for harnessing the geothermal energy found on their land in Southern Utah. In fact, Co-President, Korey Robinson, surprised Morgado the other day telling him that they have drilled and capped a small well and are now waiting for Morgado's 14-inch motor to plug into the well to harness the constant geothermal energy that is there. The engineers at Tesla Corporation looked at the data on Morgado's website, especially the graphs and charts on the rpm/torque and air pressure/ torque curves, ran the math, and concluded that he was right in saying that his engine would be a good fit for their application.
"The MYT engine is the most efficient expander for steam engines," says Morgado.
The problem is that Morgado is presently maxed out in his time and resources getting ready for the SAE demonstration May 15, in which he plans to showcase his newest 6-inch engine design running on biodiesel.
He told me that with adequate financing in place, he could put his friend over at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory on task in working up the engineering and materials needed to fit this application and customize the unit for this specific application. The steam and composition of the fluid from geothermal sources can be brutal on turbines, but Morgado thinks that his pump can be designed to handle this environment rigorously.
Tesla Corporation is a start-up and is also seeking financing for this project. Once a prototype has been tested, they expect to be able to finance additional installations on their land.
Once the initial prototype for this application has been installed, and the data collected for its performance, this could open up geothermal into much wider usage, bringing the price point down significantly.
Robinson said:
" As a company we are dedicated to finding new and innovative energy solutions that are economical and efficient. We are excited to work with Angel Labs in implementing their new technology for our geothermal resource. The numbers from the dynamometer data that we analyzed are very promising for this application. This could be really big. We're honored to be serving as pioneers for introducing what could be a real boon to the geothermal power industry."
Wind Application
Another pump application that is yet untapped would be using the MYT engine for storing wind energy via pressurized air in underground caverns or tanks, so that the wind energy could provide a base-load capability due to being able to store the energy from high wind times and deliver it as needed to the customer base. Angel Labs has received many inquiries for this type of application for the MYT engine/pump.
Other Applications
Based on other inquiries, Morgado says that the foremost potential application of the MYT pump is in mini hydroelectric applications. Another application that could be very significant is in hybrid electric vehicle applications for on-board generation of power via a MYT genset to keep the batteries topped off.
Yet another application is for pumping water and oil from underground. Given the way the MYT pump ideally handles the three key elements of volume, flow, and pressure, "it pulls up like a rope", Morgado said. Ironically, it was this application that Morgado was targeting when he first came up with the design that is now known as the Massive Yet Tiny engine.

This makes little sense.
MYT engine is (or should I say was) being promoted as a super efficient internal combustion engine. We have not so far seen it work in combustion mode.
Now it is to become a pump/compressor for use in a geothermal application.
This sounds like a non-sequitur.
To me, it seems that the design has not enough stability to be run as the super efficient combustion motor it was billed to be, and now the inventor is casting about for some other use of the technology. It leaves one to doubt whether there is anything of substance there at all...
sterling-any idea why the links in this article-or any other links to MYT or angel labs (except the peswiki)are dead? From what Ive seen-the concept is sound and ground-breaking-just the stuff that "the powers that be"love to hate and then bury.
Sepp-ICEs are pumps and compressors by design-As I understand it,years ago this design was originally to be purposed as a non-ICE pump/compressor.I'm just curious about your technical background,I just dont understand how anyone with even vocational knowledge of such things, could fail to be amazed and enthused by just the concepts exercised in the MTY.Truly ground-breaking designs, especially in the ICE category, are few and far between. This is one of them, even if it would prove to be still in its infancy
Half empty? The reaction to this story varies directly proportional to an individuals education. There is enough data on the MYT engine to see the potential for geothermal. For a relatively very small development fee the world can "call" and see if the engine can do the job and not pontificate here. I am impressed with what I see, but I am just a mechanical engineer from West Lafayette Indiana who has worked with Bell Helicopter and Collins Radio.

Now wait a minute. Is the MYT engine supposed to be great because it is more efficient than an ordinary engine or is it supposed to be great because it is tiny? If you are going to install an engine at geothermal well, does it make that much difference how big the engine is? You only have to transport it to the site once.
Agree w/ Sepp. The MYT has been intresting since I first read about it. Have been waiting for at least one short video of it running as a combustion engine, but alas only air compressor powered sequencenses has been shown. Does this engine work at all ? If it so fantastic, why is there no "running proof" ? This development of using the MYT design for other applications before proving proof of concept just discredits the whole thing. Sadly.
When and where has this engine ever been displayed running on anything other than hot air? Until it does and is, it's *just* hot air.
