In a saner world, you could logically deduce that making the mega match would be easier with only one pesky issue, the unbending Mayweather demand for totally random blood testing, to be battled back and forth.
But this is Bizarro World, this is boxing and, while I hate to be the nattering nabob of negativity, I think the second round of negotiations will be more difficult.
Let's start with this premise, that the 50-50 revenue split has gone out the window because I think it has.
All bets from Round One are scratched.
Think of Pacman's March 13 bout with I'm Not Joshing Clottey and Money's May 1 Sugar Free Mosley fight as being like primary elections.

You don't think both sides will marshall the live gate and PPV numbers to make arguments as why their man should not get the lion's share of the biggest boxing jackpot ever?

You are dead on target. I don't think May/Pac will happen exactly for the reasons you mentioned. in my opinion, the PPV #s for Mosley/May will likely more than double the PPV #s for Clottey/Pac. Taking emotion and bias out of it, Clottey is an unknown; there is no drama surrounding this fight. It's assumed Pacquiao will beat him easily. I just don't see a big PPV demand for this fight. On the other hand, May/Mosley is an unknown, two HOFs the casual fans have an interest in--that's where the money is made.
Pac/Clottey may have a larger attendance, but may not have the larger live gate receipts. Despite what's been written(20K sold in 3 hr--most of those went to ticket brokers), unless they get good Mexican hooks, selling 40-50K in Texas will be tough. $700 ringside seats are already avail at Ticket Master for $500; that's 1/5 the price of ringside in Vegas.
If it pans like this, May will never agree to 50/50. And, Pac will never RANDOM blood test. NO FIGHT!

iF pACQUIAO demands 70-30, he will be justified. I can not see Mosely-Mayweather making a million. Sure, Mayweather was on the most ppv fight with Dela Hoya, however, it was the majority of the Mexican who are probably the most die hard fans in the world that bought most of the ppv. Supporting once a respected Dela Hoya, but now a two face bum. Hatton's followers were the one that bought the ticket. Marquez's Mexican bougth the ticket. Mayweather and MOsely alone doesn't have the following. Pacquiao has legions, not only Filipino's but the entire world following. Unless Golden Boy has a well known Mexican as a co-feature they might have a chance to reach i mil..

As long as Pacquiao is on the other side of the ring,PPV's are always good numbers. Always better than Floyd's and fans knew why, EXCITING versus BOOORING. A big boost for Pacquiao is that the world has finally gotten its attention to him. On the other hand, Floyd never reach to the apex of popularity. In fact his popularity is diminished, overshadowed by Pacquiao. So it is understandable for him to stand up like a bully to keep his name afloat. Best thing is just forget him and keep going. Pacquiao will remain P4P King until he retires while Floyd may go down to #10 upon his final retirement. But business wise PAC-MAY should happen and MAY has to vow the King PAC. It is not a choice but a common courtesy.

i kinda agree with you casper on the PPV numbers. i can see mosley-mayweather doing better than pac-clottey. a lot of people want to see floyd get beat up, plus the fact that mosley is a top p4p fighter. clottey is not even on the p4p rankings, although he's there on top of the welterweights. not sure thought about a pac-mosley matchup, how will that do against mosley-pbf. a lot of people here who are very passionate about pacman thinks differently though. i hope pac-clottey gets 1 million PPV. if it does, 50-50 is still possible. what i'm thinking will work though if 50-50 is not possible is, 48-48 with the winner getting the 4.

Mr. Hemingway Marley - you're making an assumption that the fight between Fraudweather and Mosley will happen and can be compared to Pac vs Clottey in terms of PPV hits. The truth of the matter is that with all the signed contract and everything, Fraudweather can still wiggle out of his fight with Mosley for various reasons, e.g., broken baby back ribs, diarrihea, Roger is going to prison and can't train lil' Fraud etc. Unless I see lil'Fraudweather in the ring with Mosley and actually swinging punches, this fight is still an illusion for me. How many times this year have we seen big fights being cancelled or "re-scheduled" for various reasons? Lil' Fraud will not fight for anything less than 40mill. Just my opinion of course.

Mosley's skills, experience, and a neutralizing speed should make him win. The judges would be taking into account who is the aggressor and the ring generalship in the fight. You could not give this to Floyd being the runner that he is. And I think Pacquiao would prevail over Clottey. If these were to happen (God only knows and he disposes), then, Top Rank should impose on a concocted Pacweather fight a 65-35 purse split. All else, Pac could fight Mosley, Margarito, Valero. Let Mayweather cry over his spilled milk. Let him fight the Big Shaw on WWF where they are entertaining kids if not fooling them.

Personally, I don't care, and I think in the end, Pacman doesn't care too much about Floyd. If Floyd starts trying to make things hard for the two camps, win or lose Mosley is going to get the fight with Pacman. And it will be at the Cowboys Stadium again! Come to think of it....Edwin Valero's impressive 27-0, with 27 knockouts is something that Filipinos around the world, and most South Americans would love to see happen!
