Mayweather balks at Mosley, Arum drafting Margarito-Pacquiao

A solid source inside Team Floyd Mayweather has just informed me that Money May is balking at fighting Sugar Shane Mosley and that is the reason for the holdup on the announcement of a May 1 or a May 8 bout between the two American ring stars.

“Floyd did the math and Floyd is saying, 'Why should I take a potentially difficult bout against Mosley for $10 million or less when I get $40 million or more to fight Manny Pacquiao, and that could be an easier fight to win?,” the in-the-know person said Saturday night.

The source said that a heavy internal discussion and debate is going on in the Mayweather camp as to whether Floyd’s best bet might to be stay on the sidelines and let Pacman get past Joshua Clottey on March 13. Then the Mayweather camp could try to restart the previously failed negotiations to make the Mayweather-Pacquiao mega bout.

(See Rick Rockwell, who is so angry with "Duckweather" that he might give Floyd the infamous, painful Fritz Von Erich Claw Hold.)

“Mosley does OK -- just OK -- on the PPV against Mayweather,” an HBO source said. “Whereas Manny and Floyd can break all the records and do something approaching three million buys on PPV. Upside on Manny and Floyd, which is the hottest attraction to the public, is unbelievable while upside of Shane and Floyd is limited.”

Meanwhile, the always cagey Pacman promoter Bob Arum is already making his contingency plans beyond the March 13 Clottey bout at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, where reportedly 20,000 tickets were sold on the first day of general ticket sales (Saturday).

Someone familiar with Arum’s thinking and strategy said the head of Top Rank is making moves to line up returning-from-suspension Mexican Antonio Margarito as a viable post-Clottey foe for Pacman.

“Margarito will begin training on Monday in Oxnard, CA., with his new trainer, former world champion Robert Garcia. Garcia is headed back from the Philippines where his world champ Brian Viloria lost his title in Manila,” this source said.

Margarito will fight some “tomato can” opponent on the Clottey-Pacquiao undercard, his first fight since losing to Mosley last Jan. 24 in Los Angeles.

“Arum figures all is forgiven by the public once Margarito is back in the win column. Then in the wake of having 40,000, maybe 50,000 in Cowboys Stadium for Manny against Clottey, he sells Jerry Jones a second Manny bout, a natural against the Mexican Margarito. That fills up Manny’s fistic calendar for 2010 and Floyd and Manny is bigger than ever for 2011,” this insider said.

“If nothing else, Arum will shrewdly use Margarito-Pacquiao as a diversion to get Mayweather to agree to less money, less drug testing, less everything so he can cash in against Manny,” the insider said.

In the meantime, should Manny-Floyd come to fruition, Arum can pacifty Margarito with a still red-hot all-Latin revenge bout, Miguel Cotto against Margarito.

Marley posting his article in this ungodly hour? Hmmm...

Anyway, as I always say, the only way for Pacquiao to fight Floyd is, not to fight him.

Now, he is cornered and his only option is to do it the hard way. He will be the first recipient of his own anti-doping measure. He will be the first boxer to be subjected to a rigorous random drug test.

Then, being a victim himself, Floyd Mayweather will go on to champion the cause against Xylocaine addiction.

His next advocacy will be domestic violence.

    Poor Mayweather. Pacquiao outsmarted him.

Nice article Marley! Now, go back to sleep and write down your dream tomorrow.

Maybe the White Gorilla received an email from inside Mayweather's camp.

The source said “Floyd did the math and Floyd is saying, why should I take a potentially difficult bout against Mosley for $10 million or less when I get $40 million or more to fight Manny Pacquiao and that could be an easier fight to win,”

I beg to disagree. It's not the math. It' plain DUCKING TIME again.

A chicken will always be a chicken and Floyd is a chicken. I say that even if the White Gorilla admonished us fans not to resort to name calling. Maybe it's just okey to accuse Pacquiao of being on steroids when there is no proof whatsoever but not okey to call Floyd, Jr. a coward when the evidence are aplenty.

Also, as I've posted before. The Mosley Mayweather fight is not gonna happen. This is just a ploy by GBP's Schaefer and Oskie to match up with the competitive Pacman Clottey fight to save face.

A coward is a coward and will always be a coward. And that's Floyd, Jr and his legacy.

Pacman will fight Clottey for a purse nowhere near 40 Million just to prove a point. Floyd thinks he can press his demands in the next negotiations. Well, Manny will ask him to agree to a 60-40 revenue sharing or Pac will walk away again. Pac will beat Clottey plus a successful PPV numbers. This time with Margarito and Mosley around, Pacquiao will have greater leverage to pressure gayrunner to accept 60-40 sharing.

There's no guarantee that there will be a Pacquiao Mayweather fight. If Floyd insists on his same demands and Pacquiao rightfully refuses to be dictated upon, then there's no $40M for Floyd. If Floyd gives up his demands, then Pacquiao has won the negotiation battle. Arum already stated that the concessions that Pacquiao gave up in order to make the fight happen will no longer be available the 2nd time around. Who knows? Perhaps Pacquiao will not give Mayweather a chance at $40M. Floyd needs the money more than Pacquiao does.

As I have always said before, there is no way Floyd Mayweather Jr. fights Mosley this year of 2010. Mosley for now is still strong and carries a knockout punch. Perhaps in a year or two after Mosley shows signs of being old and weak, that will be the time Floyd will find his courage to get in the ring with Mosley. For now, Floyd is just too scared and too big a coward to take on true challenges like Mosley.

Floyd: Hey Leonard, I think Shane Mosley will kick my ass. We need to come up with a reason to the public and media so they don't think I'm a chicken shiet.

Ellerbe: Well Floyd, as your advisor, we already came up with the random drug testing excuse with Pacquiao. We can't go that same route again with Mosley, cause he's willing to take the random drug testing. But, I will come up with a reason to let the public know why we can't fight Mosley. In the meantime, let's pick an opponent that's smaller than you and can't hurt you.

Floyd: Thanks Leonard, keep me undefeated, and don't let the public know im a chicken shiet. That's what I pay you for.

MEDIA: MAYWEATHER CAMP ISSUES A STATEMENT TELLING US WHY MAYWEATHER CANNOT FIGHT MOSLEY. OH IM SURE ITS GONNA BE SOMETHING ALONG THE LINDS OF THE MONEYS NOT RIGHT OR HE DIDN'T WANT TO DO ENOUGH DRUG TESTING .

Now this coward floydie is in a dilemma, he thinks Pacman is an easier fight than mosley. He knows that he could lose to either one but at least he could make more money from Manny. What a loser. This is the big surprise for the floydie's camp including GBP, after making a lot of money from this clottey fight and subsequent fights, Manny does not need his punk ass and never did, unless, floydie takes a 30 to 70% split, hahahahaha. Manny would be laughing all the way to the bank. This stupid mayweathers, and golden boy with dela hoya have no idea that this would end up like this, what a group of fuc#@$%ing genius.

Manny will take on Mosley, Margarito, and Berto. Keep Floyd out in the cold. As much as everyone would like to see Manny fight Floyd, it is about time Floyd learn his lesson that is long overdue. He is not bigger than boxing as he has claimed over numerous times ridiculously. Floyd said in his owns words "if I leave boxing...boxing is dead." Hello Floyd, when you were gone almost 2 years, Manny was bringing boxing. fcuk Floyd and chicken sh1t antics, leave him out in the cold. A man of no honor like Floyd doesn't deserve a shot to the a fighter who lives with an honor code of a warrior.
