Those were the words of bombastic promoter Don King, who I spoke to moments ago about the renewed (for the second time in two years) flirtation between he and undefeated boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr.
King was more than happy to confirm that he and “Money May” have been spending some quality time in and around DK's Manalapan home and Deerfield Beach offices in recent days.
Mayweather, who went to South Florida after taking a “business vacation” in sunny Puerto Rico where he attended a cockfight and was scheduled to sit down with Boricua Bomber Miguel Cotto, revealed his meetings with the legendary promoter Thursday on his Official Twitter page.
Mayweather posted two photos of himself with King and one picture of himself with a gargantuan lobster weighing 20 pounds.
“Oh, yes,” King said in reference to the mammoth crustacean on a plate. “We dined at New York Prime, a fine establishment in Boca Raton, and don't forget to mention our great and genial host, Johnny G.”

King said he thinks he and Mayweather are on the same wavelength about making the biggest fights possible, including the epic Floyd-Manny Pacquiao super bout.
“I told Floyd, 'I can understand you, I can relate to you.' He said the same thing about me. Floyd is the most talented fighter in the world and he and I are in the process of doing things together,” King said.
King said he would have no aversion to representing Mayweather across the table from his historic arch-enemy Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter.
Arum has also said publicly that he believes he could work with King.
“Arum and I could work together well, we could work hand-in-glove. We can make things happen. I know that and Bob has said it as well.”

King revealed that Mayweather told him he was in the process of buying a home in Florida, which like his current legal residence of Nevada has no personal state income tax.
Mayweather's meetings with King are sure to send shockwaves through boxing circles, especially as to adviser Al Haymon and Floyd's chosen-but-not-contracted-with promoter Golden Boy.
Neither Haymon nor Oscar de la Hoya are likely to warm up to the idea of a proven power broker like King becoming Mayweather's main man for his future fights.
“I know what Floyd can do in the ring and he knows what I can do to bring the most money,” King said. “We're both proven performers. I appreciate that about him and I think he appreciates that about me.”
I should note that Mayweather-King flirtations are nothing new with the fighter having visited the master promoter both in 2009 and in 2005. They have spoken highly of each other in public many times.
I was unable to get any quotes out of the proo lobster except for, "I hear the prime rib is superb tonight."
