MICHAEL MARLEY'S PHILIPPINE DIARY, PART 11:
GENERAL SANTOS CITY—Dirty laundry is flying everywhere now.
The headlines in the Filipino newspapers, on the websites and the blaring news over the radio and TV airwaves tell the story.
Fraud, corruption, votes being bought, sold and perhaps rented. The threat of violence hangs in the steamy air around Manny Pacquiao's home city in South Cotobato.
The various political camps have gone to the mattresses like Mafia families in an internecine war.
The knives and guns, including assault weapons, are everywhere and, as I said, just the headlines alone tell you what's what as Election Day looms across the 7,000 island archipelago this Monday.
But, first, an “inside story” from Gensan as told to me Wednesday morning by a man who knows his way around Pinoy politics and its minefields.
And, no, it was not the usual suspect, Hermie Rivera.
Manny Pacquiao's is the National Fist but will his popularity generate Congressional race victory against Chiongbian family dynasty in Sarangani next Monday? Right now, this elections seems too close to call although Pacman aides claim three polls showing the fighter with a whopping lead over Roy Chiongbian
“One of our local candidates held a meeting with his staff and was told the opposition is bringing charges that this candidate has been buying votes, handing pisos to people who will cast their ballot for him.
“The candidate was not amused at the dirty allegations and he told his staff they must deny such “black propaganda” through all available channels and do so immediately.
“Five minutes later, said candidate started receiving more visitors at his headquarters, all of whom were looking for and getting a handout and not a hand up.

Pacquiao commercial complex, particularly the Billiards Center where fighter appears almost nightly when not in training for a bout, is center of nightlife in General Santos City (Michael Marley Photo)
“The same character who denounced vote buying charges flipped the script and went back to doing what he does best, purchasing what he hopes will be enough votes to get him elected,” this man reported.
“Meanwhile, the candidate said he will shortly call a press conference to rip into his foe for playing such dirty pool, for committing such dastardly and flagrantly illegal deeds.”
This is the backdrop, the steaming cauldron if you will, to the Pacquiao-Roy Chiongbian knockdown, dragout battle for the Congressional seat from Sarangani Province.
This is how they roll in the rough and tumble world of politics in the Pearl of the Orient.
It all makes boxing seem almost like a pristine stream, does it not?
More headlines as to Election Day as taken from the pages of hugely influential Philippine Daily, Inquirer:
**** VOTING MACHINES FAIL, WE'RE PLAYING WITH FIRE HERE
**** LOCAL RACES SPAWN MORE MURDERS, ATTACKS
**** REBEL PRIEST (CALLS FOR) ARMED REVOLT, NOT ELECTIONS
**** POSTPONE ELECTIONS (15 DAYS) PRESIDENT GMA LAWYER URGES
**** SOLDIERS GUARD METRO MANILA HOTSPOTS
**** CALLS FOR MANUAL VOTE COUNT MOUNT BUT COMELEC SAYS NO
**** NORTHERN, EASTERN POLICE ALL SET FOR MAY 10 POLLS
That's Pinoy politics and I want you “kanos” meaning Americanos to know this.
Politics ain't beanbag over here.
It is full contact and, at the same time, full karate.
You dig?
Which reminds me, I wonder how many deceased people will be pulling the levers of the automated voting machines...if they work.
You can expect the mud and the fur to keep flying, fast and furious, as Election Day draws nearer.
That goes for Manny's Congressional quest and for every other contested election in the nation.
This just in: Three knockdown rule have been waived for Pacquiao-Chiongbian, for the heated and seemingly wide open presidential campaign and, I guess, even to become dogcatcher.
Or should I say dogcooker?
The mandatory low blow rule remains in effect.
Candidates are instructed to never land a fair blow where a foul one can be landed.
Maybe one of those Mayweathers can tell where I can "connect" to score some of that fully protective "A-side meth" that makes Pacman punchproof.
I wish.
Which reminds me that, once they seal their megafight deal, I bet the Pacquiaos invited Floyd Mayweather Jr. over to their "I Love Me" spa for a free facial.
After that, Manny plans to give the "kano" a $50 million leather facial.
Mayweather is on his own for a pedicure but he can afford it.

Welcome to the Philippines Marley........That is what we said Only in the Philippines........Keep that in mind.
that's maybe the reaason for the "sarangani is not for sale". maybe the chiongbian is not going to vote buying route. since manny now have money(not fraud money, you know who, lol) to counter them. or they're insinuating that 's what manny will do. kust like the mayweather's, painting manny what he is not.
piso = tagalog/filipino - no plural form, i think
peso = english
pisos = is plural of peso it is spoken by visayan people.
Marley, be careful of locals calling you 'pisot' or 'supot'... it means, uncircumcised. We're fond of calling kanos that.
Hat's off to you Marley... you're one effin' Pacquiao nuthugger!
Quote from abscbnews.com news,
I saw that, I did, Pacquiao was quoted as saying by Examiner.coms Michael Marley, who visited the Philippines to observe the boxers political campaign"...
Marley is getting famous now. Hope he gets rich!
Mr. Marley, your writing sounds too excited .... you must be having too much SAN MIGUEL LIGHTS? Told you you will love it here... welcome home Mr. WHITE GORILLA!
marley, just make sure let gayfloyd-roids knows that the 94million filipinos are aware he's hell scared of paquiao, and pacman just watched half of his recent fight with shane because pacman knew that floyd is already finished at the 2nd round as far as he is concerned. tell floyd to take the "pacman test".
hey mike! just curious, now that your in the philippines, has jeng gacal ever invited you to that not so long ago fistic encounter or are you both smoking the peace pipes these days..
Dig it deeper Mr. Marley and you would realize that the vote buying is not just one sided. Vote buying is always the norm considering the fact that most Filipinos are living below poverty line.
HI MARLEY YOU'VE WRITTEN 11 ARTICLES ALREADY IN GEN SAN, IT SEEMS YOU'RE NOT GOING HOME ANYMORE. ENJOY YOUR STAY THERE AND DON'T EAT TOO MUCH BALUT AND DURIAN BECAUSE IT'S NOT GOOD FOR THE HEART... CHEERS!..LOL
see how derty politics in Phils are, eh Marley? ya gonna love it once the election day itself and the counting of ballot boxes comes in. just watch and observe how filthy it can get.
politics is manny's life right now, politics in his campaign and politics in potential fight to mayweather, wherein mayweather claim that he will fight instead martinez over pacquiao.
this thing make me sick and it shows it is still far far away for any negotiation can make for the mega fight.
Pacquiao said he needs more speed to fight Mayweater...How? Postpone the fight for 2 years until 2012, when Mayweather is 35 years old...age should slow Mayweather down, therefore giving Pacquiao the speed he was looking for.
Floyd Gayweather...2nd in p4p rankings, no title belt, using xylocaine for his brittle hands, loves a lot of money that he's getting from the fans but never loved the fans as he stated, claiming he's the face of boxing and all roads lead to him, claiming he's better than Ali, Robinson and Sugar Ray Leonard, claiming he's the best and that Pacman is a one dimensional fighter that's why he could beat him but demanding a stupid Olympic style drug testing? Pacman is heading to your road but you're blocking him by demanding that silly Olympic style drug testing? Oh what a fraud!!! Mind boggling!! Really a cowardly act of a silly, ludicrous, dumb, brainless, silly, witless, stupid, crazy, unintelligent, senseless person!!
Who R U Kidding?
Pacman Pacquiao is the best out there p4p #1 =^_^=
You Floyd Gayweather have to fight and beat the best in order to be the best =^_^=
Politics in Philippines are just like that. Pacman can make a difference.
Marley: Other headlines you were supposed to have read but too drunk swooning over Pacquiao:
*** INC endorses Aquino; Noynoy set for a landslide win.
*** Pacquiao hits Aquino; loses INC endorsement, losing race, losing face.
*** Pacquiao tries to make up for blunder in endorsing Villaroyo as he wears yellow in ad for Bobby Pacquiao's partylist.
*** GenSan pcos machines error-proned; show total count diverted to Jinkee.
*** Recah advises Examiner.com's Mike Marley to catch Sunday's last flight to Mayweather's party.
*** Michael Marley not balutproff after all; downed by abnoy-na-may-sabaw.
hey marley... its just u r endorsing manny for congressman there... goodluck manny...in the end.... pound for pound congressman in hte world...... lol
politics is simple: the right money to the right people at the right time and place. Mr. Marley enjoy your stay.
mr. Marley. now you know why the steroid issue hurts the pacman right? It's a total downgrade to his image. His personality is tainted, he wants to gather votes, he wants to win the election. Now you can tell your " kano " friends the difference between filipino and american culture. or else experience firsthand the brutal and chaotic elections.
a former jr middleweight champion afraid to fight a former flyweight champion? mind blowing impossible question that really exist. only floyd mayweather jr can answer. latest biased ratings of oscar dela hoya's ring magazine lifting floyd at no.1 kills pacman floyd fight. ring magazine lost its credibility and deserved to be boycotted. do not buy biased ring magazine.
You got that right, Philippine politics is like Mafia families fighting each other ...
i have to say, i only visit the examiner to read you mr marley. welcome to the philippines
with his millions, fraud should buy that a-side meth so he could be confident and invincible against pacman.
the mexican cartel is so powerful down south that it's impossible they don't have an a-side meth. it must exists because old fraud knows it, and maybe tasted it before.
Enjoy your trip MARLEY!
Marley, your ending words make me laugh. Be careful there as election is getting close and TRAPO's are throwing wild punches in all angles just to win the election. They will hit you in all directions (below the belt and all illegal punches) and not according any NSAC or any boxing commission rules.
did the Iglesia ni Cristo or Church of Christ endorse pacquiao? need replies from INC members in Saranggani
BLOOD... part 2of2
pacquiao's case:
fact: pacquiao have smaller body than mayweather.
......so taking the same amount of blood is an
......advantage for mayweather.
now, if you still don't believe that it will weaken
pacquiao. why don't ask any women who get their
period every month and ask them the side effect.
pacquiao agreed on three blood test(specific number,
since they don't know USADA and to prevent what did
happen to mosley who got tested more and a cut-off
date of 24-days before the fight to recover properly.
if you actually believe that mayweather has no hidden
agenda other than leveling the playing field. then
you're a fool.
Marley please have the fight of Mosley-Mayweather investigated for the sake of the betting public in Nevada. The fight was clearly rigged, staged, scripted. That's not Mosley we saw in the 3rd to the 12th. That's not a hall of famer boxer there, he was simply trying to make a lot of money for his retirement. How can a very strong fighter suddenly fold on the 3rd round and became novice boxer not knowing how to jab and throw punch. He was off balance all the time and he was telegraphing his punches to Mayweather. They were talking and whispering to each other. The 2nd round was accidental hit of Mosley he did not intend it but Mayweather was hit and almost drop. He held on to the arms of Mosley like a leech and Mosley did do much to ward him off and finish him. The referee too allowed Mayweather to hold on for too long. So on the 3rd round Mosley made up for the mistake and became a comical fighter charging heads onward so Mayweather can hit him. But after the fight, his face was clean.
BLOOD... part 1of2
google "wiki blood donation"
under "recovery and time between donations"
Donated plasma is replaced after 2-3 days.
Red blood cells are replaced by bone marrow
into the circulatory system at a slower rate,
on average 36 days in healthy adult males.
In that study, the range was 20 to 59 days
for recovery.
mosley's case:
BLOOD is a mix of cells and plasma that carries
oxygen and provides nutrients to every cell in
the body.
fact: mosley got tested for blood days before
......the fight and more than mayweather
fact: mayweather also got tested but hbo
......did not say dates and number of times.
fact: mosley run out of gas all of sudden,
......its one of the side effects such as
......feeling tired.
Marley, Pacman has several thrillion pesos to buy votes, so for sure, he will win. He is typical filipini fraud politician...
How can Mosley on the 3rd round run out of gas when he wasnt throwing much punches. Fact is if you watch the fight again, Mosley suddenly didn't know how to box. He was awkward, hesitant, he was tentative. Why because he was trying to avoid what happened in the 2nd round which was not part of the script. An elite boxer and veteran of many fights would suddenly turn novice - charging Mayweather head first then would not throw punch and instead opens up to receive punches that was clearly telegraph. He would also be throwing off balance punches, it was comical but not funny. His left job was open and looping with no power at all. He was telegraphing his punches to Mayweather. He would chase Mayweather only to stop in front of him not giving any punch at all. The stats would not lie. They were talking to each other that had the reporter asking what they were talking about. It must be investigated to protect the betting public. How many lost picking Mosley?
Why Mosley seemed to lost steam starting the third round?
Just look at round 2, man!!! He almost KOed Floyd!!! He almost ruined the script!!!
Fishy, fishy, fishy!!!
mr marley man you are meannnnn! you hit the nail right on the head, i was laughing so hard i almost lost my dinner, nice article on a satirical sence, in the philippines chaos is party! yohoooo
the pinoy is used to chaos and manny pacquiao is typical pinoy fighting from all angels and without a specific rythm.. you see in the philippines you can plan all you want and then typhoons, floods, eathquakes just ruin them. so pinoy just embrace CHAOS>. chaos is life. fighting is life..chaotic fighting, dats pinoy
Philippine politics is lively and dangerous but at the end of the day winners must be proclaimed.Pacquiao's good nature is for real because he is at it even during his nothingness.
WG, you doing a great job there. KUdos!
Marley, your article is too deep for me to read between the lines, but I assume that it goes to say that Philippine politics is one of a kind and that Pacman is wallowing deep to a point of no return. Yes, I agree, and yes Pacquiao will learn a great deal about the realities of trying to please EVERYONE.
You see the fact? Manny Pacquiao is Wide popular Filipino political candidate for this election in the World than any of the presidential candidates...
Not only is Philippine politics mesmerizing, but it can be entertaining for some. It is the only place where winners are declared the losers. It will pale the talents of Mindfreak wherein the whole process will take you to a higher level in the art of magic.
i hope the PI will be okay soon... thanks for the update marley...
Philippine election at its best. It's really fun to experience it, isn't it, Mr. Marley? I remember during my younger years when somebody knocked on our door and handed us 100 pesos just to vote for their candidate. Wait for election day and ballot counting day because it's even more fun. Just savor the beauty of it. Nothing can beat it anywhere in the in the world. Don't get scared by all these sightings of guns, goons and golds because it's part of the show. Everybody get excited as the election day gets closer. Mr. Marley, you're experiencing and withnessing Philippine election at it's best. Enjoy and have fun!
Manny plans to give the "kano"(floyd) a $50 million leather facial...lol!... i like that!
Bob Arum will be there in a few hours to join the party. The octogenarian can't afford to miss it. It's full house now, guys. Bob knows how it feels to be in the Philippines. I heard Michael Buffer is coming to announce the start of election on Monday. Can't wait for election day. LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLEEEEEEEEE!
You see the fact? Manny Pacquiao is Wide popular Filipino political candidate for this election in the World than any of the presidential candidates...

AS LONG AS THE WORLD KNOWS THE PACMAN THERE WILL STILL BE A LOT OF EXCITING SCENE IN BOXING WORLD! HE IS ONE OF THE BEST, EVENTHOUGH HE DROPPED FROM NUMBER 2 P4P RATING FOR UNKNOWN REASON, ITS OK, LIFE GOES ON AS LONG AS THERE IS PACMAN WE ARE VERY PROUD AND HAPPY! NOTHING HAVE CHANGED, HE STILL THE BEST P4P KING OF THE WORLD.
Marley savor the moments while it last...hehehe...
Forget about Floyd. Manny can make an easy $50MM a year in politics...Marcos style, lol.
Here's a thought:
Why not have Manny stay fighting in BOXING where he is considered the best and not in politics, acting, nor singing.
And throw in DONISIA in Politics since she doesn't have the talent nor the looks to be in SHOWBIZ! The more we see her making a scene the sooner she'll be in a movie wearing a THONG!
Now thats CREEPY and I demand phycological test on Grandma Donisia.
Marcos BEST ever President!!! Philippines is no longer the Pearl of the Orient. Its the Garbage of the Orient. Even Burma is better than PI now. So thank all the stupid people that send Marcos away. Now we're eating rice and salt.. never know we might start eating our own sh it
have you tried "PANGA"( grilled jaws of tuna or marlin) with san miguel beer like i told you before????????
