The downtown boutique Florodora has been holding a Spring Trunk Show Series since the beginning of April, showcasing local designers from around the city. Now, with two weeks left to go, the clock is ticking on this Chicago fashion experience. Luckily, this Examiner’s pick is the show coming up this very week.
The label Audey, created by Chicago designer Jessica Audey, consists of a unique collection of cocktail dresses that toes the line between classic and cutting edge. Using rich, patterned fabrics, Audey creates a statement in each dress with it’s feminine silhouette, splashy color palette, and exquisite craftsmanship.
Audey's Spring line includes ready to wear dresses versatile enough to be dressed up or down for any upcoming summer occasion. She also offers an option to customize your own dress from choosing different fabrics and styles! If that alone can't get any better, custom group orders are also available for bridesmaids, which is a new, innovative idea for making your special day unique.
With extensive experience using tactile upholstery fabrics, Jess Audey honed her skills as a designer at Columbia College and was one of six Chicago designers chosen to participate in the 2009 Macy’s Incubator Program. Now, with several stellar reviews already under her belt, Audey’s line is sure to become a Chicago household name.
Her dresses will be featured at Floradora from 12-6 p.m. on Friday, May15th. With each purchase, a portion of the proceeds will go to the international women’s charity Equality Now, which fights gender discrimination.
