America's Voice sponsors new video critical of DHS immigration tactics

After the release of several reports critical of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) enforcement and detention tactics, America’s Voice has created a new video demanding that DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano do more to reject the strategies of the Bush Administration and move forward on workable comprehensive immigration reform. The video campaign was given the name "Enough is enough."

The call of this organization based on Washington, DC, found echo across the country as grassroots activists in New York and Los Angeles launched events with the same theme, Wednesday. America’s Voice announced these grassroots actions will continue across the country for the next several weeks.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, beginning today, a national call to action has been issued to reiterate the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Secretary Janet Napolitano to stop expansion of Bush-era immigration enforcement policies. The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), maintaining the tone, has named these tactics as the cause of broken lives, instability of communities, and a growing perception that “our nation, in spite of its best intentions, conducts itself with cruelty and injustice towards its immigrant population,” and that “programs such as E-verify, I-9 Audits, and 287(g) agreements are flawed, costly, and disruptive to whole communities.”

“Enough is enough. Without clear relief to our deeply flawed immigration laws, such as just and humane immigration reform, the United States is engaging in cruel and unusual punishment with honest immigrant workers and the businesses which hired them,” said in a statement Angelica Salas, Executive Director of CHIRLA.

Salas called on all Americans who have indicated a need to reform immigration laws to call the DHS Comment Line at (866) 943-8027 or (866) 967-6018 (Spanish) to tell them about the urgent need of immigration reform legislation.

Why do these open border, free traders (GLOBALISTS) insist on calling illegal aliens--IMMIGRANTS? They are what they are I-L-L-E-G-A-L I-M-M-I-G-R-A-N-T-S! They broke the laws of a sovereign nation! We must go after the purveyors who attract this, poor uneducated people! Be honest I'm fed up with supporting any person, who crosses the border, stays on an expired tourist visa, or leaves a ship with an entry document. The corporate world have for decades, dumped millions of this people on the doorstep of Taxpayers. We, as Americans cannot even access, half the benefits that are handed to illegals on a free platter. GOD HELP THE TAXPAYER! All the truth, without the lies at NUMBERSUSA. Fight back or we will be paying higher taxes tell the sun turns--NOVA.Call your lawmaker TODAY! at 202-224-3121

These leftists are acting up in Europe as well as the U.S. They are a violent bunch and Ms.Napolitano should be investigating them, not Americans concerned about their nations borders. These stupid leftists are probably glad that Mexican drug lords are growing pot in America's National Forests and running around in them with ak-47's. Stupid people don't even care that Americans can't safely use these forests in their own nation. Worthless communist traitors.

There is a misunderstanding here. Conservatives have all the right to complain against a policy of out-of-control borders, to demand aggressive actions against the drug cartels and organized crime...but it seems they are confusing these groups with the people that has been in the US for decades, paying taxes and being productive, that have a clean record and that through an immigration reform, can be eligible for citizenship. The government needs to solve the legal status of those who qualify and YES, attack to full force the organized crime. People claiming for Immigration reform is NOT advocating for more people to come here, but to legalize the ones that have contributed to this country.

So, what part of "ILLEGAL" don't you understand? By the way, you misspelled "issue" and "comment", and you should have used the word "needed" instead of "need".

Pro-illegal immigration advocates want us to reward foreigners who have violated our immigration laws by giving them amnesty. That is fundamentally and morally wrong. Nobody should be rewarded for violating the law. So, should we reward American lawbreakers because of the fact that they've contributed to this country? No, because it's an illogical argument. Illegal aliens are lawbreakers, pure and simple. They are in this country illegally and they need to be deported back to their home countries. No more amnesties.

Fairness, that is not true. People for so called immigration reform may not state that they want more people, but with amnesty, ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS CAN BRING EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THEIR FAMILY AND EXTENDED FAMILY. Like so many things the open borders crowd does, they never tell the whole story.

By the way, since Mexico is the main contributer of illegal aliens, don't let this fool you. There are hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens from the Orient, many thousands from Europe, and India, and so on. ALL OF THEM CAN BRING THE EXTENDED FAMILY ONCE AMNESTY IS GIVEN. Some people are always trying to make this a Mexican problem or argue for Mexico. THAT' ONLY PART OF THE STORY. I believe what most Americans want is respect in their own nation and to be considered first by our politicians and leaders, not last all of the time.

Washington is out of excuse for allowing criminals into this country. Let's call them what they are. When you present false documents, names and Stoled IDs, you commit a felony, and I do belive that constitues a crime. We are rushing headlong into anarachy by being a lawless country. When laws are not enforced, then those who close their eyes are just a guilty as those who've broken and entered. Send them home, Mr. President. A former leader, Dwight Eisenhower, was afraid or too PC to do it. Let's see your backbone.

this country needs to enforce its laws plain and simple..Dumb Regan gave 2 million illegals amnesty and promised the american people that they would enforce the borders and no longer have illegals coming here..LIAR!!!! we have 20 million now.
It needs to be a felony to be an illegal and all of these programs helping them need to be stopped and the disgusting liberals behind them slammed in jail.

I for one, am sick and tired of these ILLEGAL ALIENS snubbing their nose at our immigration laws and the many other laws of this Country. If our Federal Government can not ENFORCE our immigration laws, and get these ILLEGAL ALIENS out of this Country, then let the States do it! One way or another, an end has to come to this illegal immigration, and not with AMNESTY! Amnesty will only encourage more ILLEGAL ALIENS to invade our Country and reward those who broke our laws and raped the American taxpayer in many ways...depressing our wages, taking our jobs, overwhelming our schools with their ILLEGAL ALIEN children, driving without a license or car insurance, all the crime from stolen identities to rape, drugs and everything else.

It's time for ZERO TOLERENCE with these ILLEGAL ALIENS. It's time for them get out of this Country and back in their own Country where they belong. When we get rid of the ILLEGAL ALIENS, we will get rid of all the problems that go with them.

I always find it interesting to see phrases such as "flawed immigration laws" and "just and humane immigration reform" used together. U.S. immigration law is only flawed in the eyes of those who pine away for immigration reform. Given that the U.S. accepts more (legal) immigrants each year than ANY other country in the world - how could that be if the laws were so flawed? I am also amused at the way groups such as CHIRLA, MALDEF, & La Raza blame the federal government for the slavery tactics used by those who employ illegal aliens. These companies should be heavily fined and shut down. Seeing that over 70% of citizens favor enforcement over (before) any other action such as legalization for illegal aliens, I cannot understand why the federal government doesn't do, at a minimum, what the current (and NOT 'flawed') immigration laws call for?

BigDave makes an excellent point, to wit, there are hundreds of thousands of evil, mislead or plain stupid people, in the United States, some call themselves liberals, college students, LA RAZA "human rights" supporters, socialists, communists, leftists, etc. But they all really have one thing in common, they believe that anyone anywhere in the world, at any time, should be allowed to come to the United States of America. Some say they are environmentalists, believe in social peace, etc. and yet want to invite the world to the U.S. CAN YOU NOT SEE HOW UTTERLY INSANE, OR PERHAPS JUST PLAIN EVIL THESE PEOPLE ARE?

There are quotas for LEGAL immigration. These quotas are based on the number of people our society and country can absorb without creating hardships on our society or our country losing our sovereignty. We had our last "big" amnesty in 1986. That was supposed a one time amnesty, never to be repeated. The various comments that people who have been here for a long time and therefore should receive legalization is faulty thinking. Unfortunatley, the present administration seems to be determined to completely eliminate enforcement our immigration laws. So many of the people posting on this site who want that to happen, I presume are very happy. They have stopped raids to arrest individual illegal employees, weakened the 287(g) program, declared that only "criminal" illegal aliens will be deported, congress has refused to extend E-Verify and refused to include any language in the health care proposal to to prevent illegal aliens being included in that program. Stop this insanity!!!

An interesting story out of the immigration courts:

There was a time when agricultural workers got to apply for legal status, so thousands of illegal immigrants petitioned as agricultural workers. The judge asked if they picked strawberries. Of course they all had. Then the judge asked how tall was the ladder they used to pick strawberries. One after another decribed the ladders they used.

However, strawberries grow on the ground, so those who lied were shown the door to leave the US.

How would you like to be an immigration judge? Everyday, someone else is saying whatever they think will keep them in the country instead of the truth. What an ugly job, go to work to be lied to everyday.
