Re-'Taking Woodstock' - the complete 1969 concert setlists and playlists, in order

The book, Taking Woodstock, by Elliot Tiber with Tom Monte, has been adapted to a film with the same name directed by Ang Lee, and the picture will be released on August 28, 2009.  However, this upcoming weekend marks the actual 40th anniversary of the summer outdoor festival of "peace and music," that changed popular culture in the United States and around the world from that moment on. The original concert took place starting Friday evening, August 15, and ran through Monday, August 18, 1969.  Over 400,000 people showed up,  nearly 1/2 million.

If you'd like to know what's happening on the original farmsite this weekend, consult the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts website.

Books on Film marks the 40th anniversary of Woodstock by listing the complete set and playlist of artists and songs from the festival (as has been researched to this point), as well as a link to a site where you can listen to a few of the songs (the songs may not be Woodstock versions of the recordings, but most do appear to be performed by the original artists).

The list comes from the Museum at Bethel Woods.  The museum notes that there is still a question about the band sequence and they will make a change as new information becomes available.  Find the partial list of accompanying song excerpts, here.

Books and films about the event can be found here:  Woodstock booksWoodstock films.  What about CD collections of the, um, MUSIC, you ask?  ;)  Well, here is a listing of available CDs and sets.
