Fantastic Mr. Fox will open the London Film Festival on Wednesday. David Gritten is reporting in The Guardian that the animated feature film based on the children's novel by Roald Dahl, will be the first film featured at the 53rd annual London event.
Mr. Gritten points out that much of the movie is American in nature--including the voices of many of its stars such as George Clooney and Meryl Streep. However, he concludes that some Britishness of the original story remains and that the movie overall is "an accomplished work with a cheerful sense of uplift." He says this makes it an appropriate start for a festival.
See Mr. Gritten's full review, here, including information about Wes Anderson's director/writer's process in making the film.
Fantastic Mr. Fox is due in theaters in the U.S. in November.
