Death Cab for Cutie shares video details for 'New Moon' soundtrack single, 'Meet Me on the Equinox'

New MoonDeath Cab for Cutie guitarist, Chris Walla, talked with MTV News recently about the concept for the music video of "Meet Me on the Equinox," the first announced single off the forthcoming The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack. The movie, directed by Chris Weitz, stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner.

Their first thought, to include cameos with the New Moon cast, quickly deflated to a more realistic but still creative concept.  Mr. Walla explained from the set:

"The whole idea behind the video is that this house that we're in, this crazy ski lodge of a building here, it's going to get cut together with scenes from the film, sort of like it's a place that might be in Forks, sort of a place that might be next door to Bella's house or something,"

Light moves through the house, turning the house from day to night to day again, which enhances the message of the song.  Shots of the video will be interspersed with short clips from the film.

Both the song and the music video will debut during the MTV Music Video awards which will be broadcast on Sunday, September 13, 2009.

I can't wait! Anything with any clips from the movie will be great. I'm especially excited to hear the song itself--I hope it's good!
