Twenty-year-old Dakota is overwhelmed. After her mother Georgia's death, she realized life is short and there are a lot of things she would like to accomplish. When she is done with pastry school, she plans on changing the knitting shop her mother left her into a knitting cafe. But, it is hard to focus on her goals when everything around her is constantly changing.
Peri, the joint owner of the knitting shop, has decided to move to Paris. Dakota has to find someone to replace her.
Anita and Catherine, two of her closest friends, have decided to have a double wedding on New Year's Day.
James, Dakota's father, wants her to travel to Scotland with him for Christmas to see her aging great-mother instead of doing an internship she had arranged with a chef at the V hotel.
The one constant in Dakota's life is the Friday Night Knitting Club. There, she can work on her knitting projects and talk about her worries with her and her late mother's six longtime friends.
Knit the Season was written by Kate Jacobs and published by G. P. Putnam's Sons. This novel, and other books from the Friday Night Knitting Club series, can be requested from a St. Paul Public Library, and a Ramsey County Public Library.
