Roz Savage will speak on October 13th
Have you been looking for a literary event that will blow your mind? The Good Life book series has you covered. The Good Life features books for better living and are interactive evenings of conversation with authors on tools for creating “the good life.” Throughout the fall (and continuing next spring) they have brought authors and readers together and turned an author lecture and signing into a glamorous book party. So far this fall they have had Po Bronson with his book on parenting entitled Nurtureshock and MJ Ryan with her book AdaptAbility: How to Survive the Change You Didn't Ask For.
The rest of the fall season includes:
October 13th: Roz Savage will be in town to discuss Rowing the Atlantic: Lessons Learned on an Open Ocean at Tom Douglas' Palace Ballroom.
October 27th: C. Marina Marchese here to discuss Honeybee: Lessons of an Accidental Beekeeper at Tom Douglas’ Palace Ballroom
November 12th: Dacher Kelter here to discuss Born to Be Good: The Science of a Meaningful Life at the Hotel Andra Ballroom
If you ask me, it is a pretty good deal. All of the Good Life events begin at 6:30 p.m. with conversation and appetizers and a cash bar is on hand. At 7 p.m. Warren Etheredge, the founder of The Warren Report, and the author take the stage for an interview and conversation about the ideas in the book. The night ends with a book signing. It's just $35 per person and that price includes all of appetizers, some Theo Chocolate confections, and a copy of the featured book.
All of these events are put together by Kim Ricketts Book Events, who are known for creating author events in non-traditional venues. They will hold a Cooks & Books Visiting Chef series at various restaurants around Seattle and host a Words & Wine author series at the Pan Pacific Hotel Seattle.
Sound off: Have you been to a Good Life book event? What are you looking forward to seeing?
