World of Harry Potter theme park in Florida set to open in 2010

Universal Studios is set to make what it calls a major announcement about its new “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” theme park on September 15th.
Earlier this week, Universal began sending out invitations to the press for an event in Orlando, Florida on the 15th. Warner Brothers and Universal have both been pretty mum about what to expect from its Harry Potter theme park in Orlando since announcing it two years ago – though they have released a few concept drawings (see slideshow below).
Muggles everywhere are now buzzing about what this new announcement could include. The park is scheduled to open sometime next year, though no exact date has been given.
Potter fan-site MuggleNet has been invited to the press event, and is now reporting that at least one of the “Potter” actors will be there – Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the movies.
The theme park will be part of Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando, and Universal promises it will draw on inspiration from both J.K. Rowling’s books and the movie adaptations. Universal says the area will include rides, attractions, shops and restaurants all geared towards the Harry Potter theme.
