Finally! A new site was created for independent authors seeking representation of their work.
The Publetariat Vault is a developing searchable database of independent authors who own the rights to their work and are interested in selling their material to publishers and producers.
Membership is free for the first month for authors, then $10 per month thereafter (compare to Publisher's Marketplace, another of its kind, where the minimum monthly fee is $20). Because the Publetariat Vault is still developing, it is offering the first 300 members free membership for 120 days. That's four months for free just to try it out. After 300 members are enrolled, the Vault will then open its database to publishers and producers. Acquisition professionals can then freely input their criteria and find material that has already proven traction in the marketplace.
For authors, the Vault offers a fairly priced opportunity to sell their work. Instead of rewriting query letters with updated sales data, authors can input new sales data online, which becomes instantly searchable for publishers and producers. While Publisher's Marketplace houses thousands of independent authors seeking representation, the Vault is new and seemingly more independent, creating a great, reasonably priced opportunity for indie authors and acquisition professionals alike.
