And poetry forum for Michael Jackson

By Blair Adam Karsch, 1996, ISBN:  0-9658203--0-0

This Book

This book has subjects, Some caught, some keen,
Things fun and real, The youthful beem.
A casual look closer depth,
Leave or love thoughts, much left,
Much more time subject lines
TV shows all not fine.
So take a look, A thought, a look
All is good, a Book life's nook.
To children, to students, No nature let's dial,
Thank you so much, Now let's all smile.
The first poem from

Mr. Karsch's book aptly describes the contents as he includes something for everyone with a youthful and at the same time ageless perspective.  Mr. Karsch recently appeared on the Jay Leno show in an interview on the street and had the opportunity to display his wonderful talent of creating spontaneous poetry which seems Haiku-like in its distilled meaning.  His poetry usually retains the same meter which also brings to mind a Haiku formula or "rap beat" or even texting in its abbreviated intensity.  When he improvises a poem on a subject on the spot as he did on Jay Leno and does in local poetry meetings for students, or in classrooms, he is quite impressive.  This is his first book, but he plans to publish additional books aimed at different audiences.

Some of the other subjects his poetry covers include protecting the environment, poverty, race, sports, sex, drugs, family addiction and teen love.  He tries to keep an upbeat tone and a positive perspective.  Here are a few more of his poems.

Blair will soon be putting out a new book.  Here is a poem from that book that inspired me to write a Michael Jackson poem to deal with my feelings.  Blair's poetry is very therapeutic in that respect.  Please feel free to comment or write your own poetry about the topics listed here, which may be included in Blair's book.

A Lot of People in Indiana Trust God

Kurt Vonnegut
Sort of saw it
Blair Karsch did
Indiana heartache
Indiana skin

John Hiatt
Sort of did it
Out of a pickup truck
A lot of people in Indiana
Trust God, good luck

License plate dreams
The right the left
God is good
But I have wept

License plate
Churches
A state now blue
licensed in red
Just what does a license plate dick do?

Of a state
So stately
The Ku Klux Klan
Kurt Vonnegut
A deep pressure
To be a man.

To argue fuss
And martyr
To conquer a dream
A lot of people trust God
But one thing….one thing

Michael Jackson

Michael’s from Indiana too
Number seven, in the region born
Could be he sang from soul
Dad said it’s the only way son.

To argue, fuss conquer a dream
And martyr of course we must
People in Indiana understand
People here miss him most

Now he’s gone
The whole world’s sad
Gone to soon
He’s bad, it’s bad.

People in Indiana trust God
One thing…., what else to see
God is good, but I have wept
Indiana born and now you’re free.

 Nature is Major

Nature is life, Such a theme
So sacred, Vanishing, the nature scene.
Time for air, trees, No signs
No cars, no noise, much better You'll find.
Nature, peace, Silence, river cold,
Snow, air, Shiver, life told.
Will touch you, so kind, So sincere, and true
Life is nature, Nature is you.

Blair has a wide range of experience with youth in grades kindergarten through twelve.    "The poems in this book represent inspiration and insight from each and every one of them.  The rhythmic beat is an attempt to jump-start the attention span that so often wavers in youth and adults alike."    He also produced a television show, "On Your Level Television" which profiled groups, neighborhoods, agencies, and schools with depth and soul.   Mr. Karsch is available for seminars, speeches, book signings and fund raising opportunities.  He hopes that Bigger Than Cool provides some quiet time for family and friends.
