Twilight fans, this one’s for you…
On Friday, author Stephenie Meyer will make a rare public appearance when she drops by The Oprah Winfrey Show. The announcement came by way of her web-site, where she stated, “I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and show my support for him.” The reclusive writer (who referred to herself as a “hermit”) went on to say that this would be her one and only interview in regard to the film adaption of the second novel in the Twilight Saga, which opens nationwide on November 20th. “And since I’m only doing one interview, better make it big. Really big…”
Meyer went on to say that the interview would be aimed at a broader audience than just fans of Twilight, and that die-hards would probably already know most of the answers. To rectify this, the author is encouraging fans to submit more specific New Moon movie-related questions to TheTwilightSaga.com (through noon on Tuesday, November 9th), as she will answer the most frequently asked questions in a post on Monday, November 16th—the date of the film’s Hollywood premiere.
In related news, the movie tie-in version of New Moon is currently available in paperback and features a cover image of stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner as well as a fold-out movie poster. Readers might also wish to check out the leatherbound Collector's Edition. Additionally, The Twilight Saga: New Moon—The Official Illustrated Movie Companion is also out now. A visual companion to the film, it includes full-color photos of the cast, locations, and sets, as well as exclusive interviews and personal stories. Finally, The Twilight Journals—a set of four journals housed in a collectible keepsake tin, each featuring the cover art of one of the novels as well as images and quotes throughout—can be purchased in-stores and online.
And for those of you who love a good laugh, Nightlight: A Parody has just been released through Vintage. From the esteemed Harvard Lampoon, the short volume is a laugh-out-loud funny reimagining of Meyer’s classic tale. Entertainment Weekly’s Shelf Life blog is offering an exclusive look at Chapter 1 of the book here.

While I am not a fan or Twilight or Oprah, I know many people who definitely are. They will be more than thrilled with this fantastic article and I'm going to share. And for the others, like me, the Nightlight part is pretty cool.
Thank you.
