Local authors to present Dirty Water: A Red Sox Mystery at Yale Bookstore

Dirty Water: A Red Sox Mystery

On Sunday, March 1st, local author Mary-Ann Tirone Smith and her son, Jere, will be discussing/signing their new book, Dirty Water: A Red Sox Mystery, at the Yale Bookstore in New Haven. The event begins at 2PM and will be held in the Periodicals Department on the Upper Level. As an added bonus, the first 25 book-buyers will receive a gift: a bar of "Big Poppy Soap" (Dominican mango with poppyseed exfoliant), compliments of the Stella Marie Soap Company.

If you’re a fan of the Red Sox, the city of Boston, or just good ol’ mysteries in general (or if you just love soap), this is the perfect read for you. The Hartford Courant had this to say about its authors: “Together they pitch an intriguing tale that hinges on the smuggling of talented young player from Cuba to the United States. Characters include the revenge-minded family of a dead woman, a slimy [trafficker] in kidnapped players, two even lower-lifes who have a beef with him--and most enjoyable, cameos by the 2007 members of the World Champion Red Sox…”

Mary-Ann Tirone Smith is the author of eight previous novels, including the Poppy Rice mysteries, as well as the award-winning memoir Girls of Tender Age, which chronicled her childhood in Hartford. Jere Smith founded the blog “A Red Sox Fan from Pinstripe Territory.” Both are prouDd members of the Red Sox Nation.

For more information on this event, please contact the Yale Bookstore at (203) 777-8440.

And stay tuned to “Hartford Books Examiner” for an exclusive interview with the authors…
