John Daly appears to be getting the writer's itch again.
Daly, the star golfer, is thinking about writing a new book that could form the basis of a movie about his up-and-down life, reports the Associated Press.
Daly, who has battled struggles with alcohol throughout his playing career, has slimmed down to 185 pounds. That's down from 300.
Daly joked with reporters at a golf tournament in Australia this week that actor Kevin James could play his old self and Matt Damon his new trimmed-down self.
If Daly follows through on the new book, it would be his second. He published the 2006 book "John Daly, My Life in and Out of the Rough."
Another entertaining book partly about Daly is Rick Reilly's "Who's Your Caddy." Anyone who wonders the origin of the golfer's "Big John Daly" nickname will want to read this book.
