Andrew Young's upcoming tell-all book on John Edwards is racing up bestseller lists in the wake of Edwards' confession yesterday that he had a daughter with a presidential campaign videographer with whom he had an extramarital affair.
More than a week before its scheduled Feb. 2 release, Young's "The Politician: An Insider's Account of John Edwards's Pursuit of the Presidency and the Scandal That Brought Him Down" is already no. 59 on the Amazon.com bestseller list.
Young started volunteering for Edwards in the latter's Senate campaign of 1998. He "quickly became the candidate's right-hand man" and was later asked to help conceal Edwards' affair with 2008 presidential campaign videographer Rielle Hunter, according to the book's page on Amazon.
That affair resulted in the birth of a daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter, who will turn 2 next month. Edwards admitted yesterday that he was Quinn's father, confirming what most already suspected despite Edwards' ongoing denials.
Young has been quoted as saying Edwards admitted the paternity now because of his upcoming book.
Edwards also appears in an unflattering way in the no. 1 book in the U.S., John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's "Game Change," which is about the 2008 presidential campaign.

Edwards is a clone of Gary Hart. No morals and no intellect.
He and Elizabeth gave their 16 year old son a jeep and the son promptly got himself killed.
Thank God this moron isn't running the country.
