Remember to watch Bobby Long on 'The Jay Leno' Show on NBC tonight, Feb. 3rd!

You’ve hit the big time when you perform on the national network TV station, NBC. Home to the beloved icon, Johnny Carson, the Jay Leno Show is rated as the #1 late night talk show in America. It is ranked higher than The Letterman Show, The Jimmy Kimmel Show and all the others regularly.

And you have a special reason to watch it tonight. Fans and music lovers everywhere: This is a reminder to watch Britain’s Bobby Long on the Jay Leno Show on NBC tonight, February 3rd, at 11:35 p.m. EST/10:35 p.m. CST.  Bobby will be promoting his new ATO Records Album, "A Winter Tale." If you can’t watch the show, then set your DVR to record it. You won’t want to miss this.

And if you’re in the LA area, try to get tickets to the show. It will be a memorable experience. There’s nothing like seeing British singer/songwriter Bobby Long perform live.

If You Have Tickets To the Show:

If you already requested tickets and received them, then here’s the process. Get to the NBC Studios early. The studio is located at 3000 W. Alameda Avenue, Burbank, California, 91523.(They give out more than enough tickets for seats so people will get turned away). The first waiting area is outside the gates in a fenced off area with trees. The second waiting area is inside the gate and they will line you up on benches where you'll have access to water and lemonade – especially if it’s hot weather. You might have to wait for 45 minutes to an hour or so.

If you get there really early, you might want to have something to eat. It’s not uncommon to see Jay Leno at one of his favorite LA haunts like Dan Tana’s Restaurant in West Hollywood or Pink’s Hot Dogs (on LaBrea, north of Melrose). Sometimes, at night, you’ll find Jay at the Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach. Jay also tapes street interview segments around Melrose & Gardner in Hollywood, Westwood Village and the Universal City Walk.

Once you’re inside and seated, you’ll get to see Jay before the show. He comes out and talks to the audience and tells jokes and even takes pictures with the fans and kinda "interviews" people. There is always a “crowd warmer” in the audience who will tell jokes and make everyone laugh.

The Show:

Then the show starts and they tape the show live just like you see it on TV. They segue to commercials and get makeup touch-ups and last minute instructions from the producer and director. It’s an hour-long taping and during the commercials, Jay laughs and interacts with the audience.

Bobby’s performance will probably be toward the end of the show as most musical acts are. Bobby will probably smile that shy smile of his, peeping out from chocolate brown hair that sweeps down over his blue/green eyes, and hugging his beloved Joni Jo guitar close to his heart. And then, the world will fall away as Bobby’s fingers start picking the guitar and singing in that raspy, raw voice of his. And everywhere, fans will squeal with delight and scream, “It’s Bobby! It’s Bobby!”

Jay will probably go over and talk with Bobby afterwards, asking him a few questions about his new album, “A Winter Tale.” And Bobby will once again smile that devilish smile and speak in his cockney accent cause he’s “kinda British.” And he’ll look at the camera and know that we – his fans – are all watching and cheering him on. “We knew you’d be there someday, Bobby. And we love you!”

At the end of the show, you'll see Jay do the promos for that night’s episode.  And it will be a good night. A good night to all because we've just seen our friend Bobby Long on "The Jay Leno Show!"

Excellent review of what it's like to be on Leno. And excellent description of Bobby.
