If you're looking for a new boat-friendly dining experience, there are a couple of great restaurants for you to check out on the Occoquan River - Madigan's Waterfront Restaurant, located in historic and picturesque Occoquan, VA, and Waters Edge on the Occoquan, located in Woodbridge, VA. Both restaurants offer public docking, allowing you and your crew to secure a line and come ashore to enjoy some fantastic grub.  Whether you choose to dine on the deck outside boasting ample outdoor seating, or sit at the tiki bar and enjoy a cool drink on a hot summer day, both locations can accommodate your appetite and wet your whistle.

Madigan's, located in Occoquan, specializes in seafood, with mouth-watering dishes like the Soft Shell Crab Platter, Coconut Crunchy Shrimp and Tilapia Bruschetta on the menu, along with Filet Mignon and Cowboy Rib-Eye for the more carnivorous mariners.  They also offer a fantastic selection of pasta and poultry dishes.  Click here to view their full menu. 

While Madigan's offers formal dining inside their waterfront restaurant, their guests can also kick back for some casual waterfront dining on thier Topside Deck.  During the warm summer months, the Topside Tiki Bar is a popular place to enjoy a drink with friends.  They offer daily Happy Hour specials, and on Friday and Saturday nights they offer live entertainment and Karaoke.  To view their upcoming entertainment calendar, click here.

Madigan's is also available for private functions and events, and offers a private upstairs venue that can seat up to 110 guests, complete with dance floor, fully-stocked bar, restrooms, and an outdoor private deck .  They also have an event planner available to assist you with planning your special event and a full, professional wait staff  dedicated to taking care of your every need.

Water's Edge on the Occoquan

The Waters Edge of Occoquan, located in Woodbridge, VA and formerly the Oasis of Occoquan, is under new ownership and has undergone some extensive renovations, both inside and out, boasting one of the largest bars in Northern Virginia. 

Waters Edge is a perfect place to watch sporting events, with several plasma HDTVs located throughout the restaurant which can be viewed from any of the 5 bars, including the tiki bar outside.  Enjoy several food specials such as $2 burgers and jumbo hot dogs on Sports Sundays!

Water's Edge has an impressive outdoor deck overlooking the Occoquan River, offering a fantastic place to dine in the warm weather.  Even the bald eagles like it there!  You can often spot one sitting high in the tall trees directly across the river.  Their lunch and dinner menus include fantastic appetizers, such as Mark's Potato Skins and Ultimate Nachos, as well as main fare items including Mike's Cuban and Maryland Style Jumbo Lump Crab Cake.  For full lunch and dinner menus, click here.

 In addition to public access by boat and excellent outdoor dining, The Waters Edge hosts live entertainment throughout the week with live bands, DJs and Karaoke.  They also host special events throughout the year, such as the upcoming '2nd Annual 100 Car Pile-Up Car Show', Sunday 25 April from 9am - 3pm, complete with a hog roast, hamburgers and hot dogs.  For a full calendar of their upcoming events, click here.

So whether you're looking to feed the family after a fun-filled day out on the water or a place to catch the afternoon game and a few appetizers after a morning spent fishing on the river,  you will find what you're looking for on the Occoquan River. 

Both restaurants are located within the no-wake zone.  You will find the Water's Edge on the left just after the I-95 overpass.  Madigan's is further up river on the left , just beyond the RT 123 overpass.  Cruise on up and tie a line and join the fun!
