Many Northwest boaters often head north when out for the week or weekend but the Dock Street Marina in downtown Tacoma is a reason to turn your boat around. The marina is located on the southwest side of Commencement Bay tucked in the Thea Foss Waterway.
Guest slips are up to 60 feet in length with pier ends up to 120 feet. Moorage is reasonable at $1.00 per foot for boats up to 59 feet in length and $1.50 per foot for boats 60 feet and over. 30 amp power is available for $3 per night and 50 amp power is $5 per night. Even more important is the $5 slip side pump out that is available.

Many restaurants are also near by and there is an excellent variety of different types of cuisine. Free light rail is also available if you want to travel a bit further. Light rail can also take you to the Tacoma Dome – just think next time a concert, event, or show is there you can come via boat instead of driving down.
For those who want to pick up some food or gourmet snacks Thea’s Market is just around the corner. They offer some staples while specializing in wine, cheese, meats, and Northwest food products. Anyone looking to add some new food or beverage choices to their boat pantry should check it out.
So next time you are looking for a place just a short sail or cruise away to get a bit of city life and culture check into the Dock Street Marina.
