Orioles Examiner in rare non-internet appearance

October 8, 12:12 AM

Tune in to ESPN 1300 AM Wednesday at 5:25 pm if you want to hear the Baltimore Orioles Examiner on The Anita Marks drive-time radio show.

For those of you who prefer your sports news via this new-fangled internet, you can listen to the signal streaming on the ESPN 1300 website here.  Or you can go to your grandmother’s basement to fish out the ole tuner; look for it right next to the accordion.  Here's a picture, in case you've never seen an AM radio:

I was contacted about an appearance on the show following last week’s column, the best of the O’s: media awards.

Perhaps Anita and the gang will want to talk about the award for best radio program, which went to their colleague Ken Weinman.  Or maybe they’ll want to talk about the award for best internet site for O’s news, given to program contributor Roch Kubatko.

Or maybe they want to discuss that stuff I said about Mark “Check out my new haircut” Zinno and Jeremy “Mr. Ms. Miami” Conn.

In case you missed it, here are the comments in question:

"Anita Marks, who I met once at a karaoke bar in Canton, is friendly, almost too much so.  She seems more interested in befriending players than asking hard questions.  Anita is also surrounded by two intolerably loud and obnoxious cohosts, Mark Zino and Jeremy Caan, or Kahn or whatever.

If you aren’t familiar with the show that features these two knuckleheads, imagine being at a baseball or football game and getting stuck in front of “those guys.”  You know, the types of guys who you would hate sitting in front of because they would be shouting at the team as though they knew more than the GM, the owner, the manager, and the players combined.

And you just know that they go home and whine about playing second fiddle to Anita because she’s a blonde “sports chick.”  I told her to fire these idiots when we met, but no such luck yet.

Or maybe they’ll want to hear more about the recipient of the best MASN commercial award.  Who knows?
