The mayor says that she thinks the investigation was started by a jealous person in city hall but she does not name any names. The article then goes on to talk about former Dixon spokesman Anthony McCarthy. It is as if the author is trying to imply something.
For those curious about Anthony McCarthy you can read an interesting City Paper article about him here. He is not painted as a credible person and it would clearly help Dixon's credibility if McCarthy was one of the people helping the investigation in to her dealings.
