Only in Baltimore- When An Attempted Armed Robbery Becomes A Property Crime

October 9, 11:55 PM

This Sun article explains how the gun that was used to murder Ken Harris was also used at an attempted armed robbery at the same shopping center back in January. The attempted robbery back in January was not classified as an attempted robbery though. It was considered a property crime!  Had it been classified as an attempted armed robbery it would have been investigated and maybe the perpetrators would have been caught before they killed Ken Harris. Here is a quote the Sun printed from the victim of the original crime:

"I showed [the detective] the surveillance and everything," Khan said. "I said, 'So you mean to say if somebody comes and shoots at the window and just because they didn't get through because it was bulletproof ... it's just property damage? I was real upset about that."

Many thought the distortion and reclassification of statistics was something only done under O'Malley's leadership. Guess not.

For the few voters in Baltimore who just do not vote blindly for the most familiar name this incident causes some lack of confidence in Baltimore city living.  This is part of a long list of disturbing trends that honest citizens who make political decisions based on results worry about.  Here are just a few of the disturbing trends:  Federal Hill attacks being hidden, State's Attorney's Spokespeople making up lies about victims, gambling being shoved down our throats by politicians who once opposed it on moral grounds, the revolving door criminal justice system, and shadow government institutions flexing their muscle.
