Mayor Dixon going on a trip to Egypt

October 13, 8:56 AM

That title is not a joke. In these times of great economic hardships and mayhem the Mayor of Baltimore is going to Egypt in the name of diplomacy. If you have $2540 you can join her. The trip includes :

• A day with Luxor community including dinner with the Mayor of Baltimore and the Governor of Luxor
• A day with Alexandria community including dinner with the Mayor of Baltimore and the Governor of Alexandria

You can read all about the trip here.

Taking into account recent controversies, the state of the city, and the current economic situation I think that taking such a trip is not exactly the best PR move. Of course most of the sheep-like voters of Baltimore won't even notice or care unless Rawlings-Blake stages a coup when the Mayor is out of the country.
