City dweller Gina Andracchio has a modern, and sometimes urban, twist on traditional outdoor rec--proving that adventure begins just outside your door.
Happy Friday to all! So this Sunday is indeed the official day to honor the women who brought us into the world. Are you still deciding what to do for your mother? Well despite the gloomy weather we are supposed to have all day today and tomorrow, Sunday is supposed to be a partly cloudy day in the high 60’s.
There will be a Mother’s Day Festival at Boordy Vineyards on both Saturday, May 10th and Sunday, May 11th. Known as “Maryland’s oldest family-run winery”, Boordy Vineyards is located in Baltimore County roughly 15 minutes north of the Beltway. It’s certainly a good place for the whole family where there are constant events being held throughout the summer including: concerts, vendors, book-signings, and dance lessons. Click here to find out more about Boordy Vineyards.
If you do decide to attend the festival (being held rain or shine), Ellis Woodward will provide live music, and Carl’s Catering will provide the food. Admission for adults is $12 and $5 for children. Packages are offered for entire families. Most importantly, however, treat every day as Mother’s Day and show your appreciation. Moms are the best!
To my mother: Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for being a person I can admire, I love you.
Something else to do on the weekend, Bay Café is a great place to hangout during the spring and summer months for the “outdoor” club scene. It’s not too crowded to the point where you can’t move, but just right in my opinion. They’re always having 2-for-1-drink happy hours and live bands; during the summer they will
start their bikini contests – for those of you who enjoy those types of things.
