Is John McCain credible?

May 12, 8:47 PM
by Nina Guise-Gerrity, Baltimore Ethics Examiner

Last Tuesday, Republican presidential candidate John McCain told an audience of several hundred listeners that the war in Iraq would end when the American people wanted it to.
Could this be a true statement, or do you believe that he is he pandering to his audience of dissenters?
Should majority opinions carry enough weight that government policies are based upon them?
Additionally, this statement is in contrast to his earlier remarks about the war’s longevity.  He is quoted as saying that the war would last for a hundred years, if necessary.
Do you think that he jeopardizes his credibility when he makes contradictory statements?
