Celebrity Blue Crab Derby

April 18, 1:23 PM
by Anne Boone-Simanski, Baltimore Events Examiner

The World Famous Lexington Market will host their 18th annual Celeb Crab Derby on Thursday, May 15,2008  at high noon. It's going to be my honor to participate, for the 2nd year in this official Preakness week event. The crab derby is a bushel of fun that will have many local celebs racing a Maryland blue crab(using a water gun and other secret tricks) for  the coveted 1st place title.

Darlene Hudson-Promotion and Marketing Manager for the market told me " I have requested all female crabs this year, we all know they're the stronger sex."

Could be ..Last year the champs were all  ladies...I got 2nd and hope to move up with a speedy she crab.

Come on out and cheer me on as one of the 2008 Crab  Celebrity Jockeys. The event will begin at 12.15pm.-Center Court of the Market. There will also be live Caribbean music for everyone, thanks to the talents of Orlando Phillips.
