Wednesday, I wrote about the history of the Food-A-Rama chain of grocery stores in the Baltimore area.

Food-A-Rama's assets were sold to Super Rite, which was bought by Richfoods, which eventually was absorbed by Shoppers Food Warehouse.

The FBI is searching Shoppers Food Warehouse's Lanham headquarters in connection with its investigation of state senator Ulysses Currie. Currie, who is chair of the powerful Senate Budget and Taxation Committee, does consulting work for Shoppers Food Warehouse.

Shoppers' parent company SuperValu has donated $7,500 to Currie since 2004.
