Accidents Happen
POSTED April 8, 10:44 PM
This evening my husband and I took two of our children to see “High School Musical.”  The play was a wonderful adaptation of the Disney version.  Upon the conclusion of the play my nine year old vomited all over the floor in front of him at the theater.  Of course, we comforted Patrick, our eldest, to help him feel better.

This experience reminds me that we are never in control of the events of life.  We had a wonderful evening and quality family time.  All seemed well and yet hours later my eldest son would be wrought with sickness.  On the ride home I thought about my son as he battled his wooziness in a moving vehicle.

I was glad that we had such a good time prior to Patrick getting sick.  I thought, “Accidents happen!”  I am glad that each moment that we have together we can find time to enjoy each other.  Life happens but isn’t it great to have special moments that serve as your Headline.  Think about it.

Live fully,

Mia

No time for vacation?
POSTED April 8, 10:17 PM
Hey, with the rising costs of gas, you’re not the only one who can’t get away this summer.  Whether it’s time or money, there’s no reason you can’t do a bit of “traveling” this summer.  Go local!

Especially if you live in a large area, chances are there are a bunch of places you’ve never bothered visiting.  Think outside the box and start searching on the internet for places to go nearby.  This is not only a great way to avoid those huge gas bills or hefty airline tickets, but it also eliminates the time spent “getting there.”

Here’s a list to get that thought process moving!

 Nature farms

Candy factories that offer tours

Bee keeper

Community theater

Farmer’s market

Wildlife preserve

Bike trails

Hiking

White-water rafting

Fishing lakes

And don’t forget about the library.  Maybe read up in the travel section in case gas prices drop or you have more time…. Next summer!

Live fully,

Mia
