Make Someone Smile in Seconds!
POSTED May 1, 8:13 AM
Busy, busy, busy! I know that sometimes it seems like there’s never any time for stopping to smell the roses so to speak, but taking the time to do something nice for someone whether that’s your kids, spouse, family or girlfriends doesn’t really have to take much time at all.

Our children may or may not believe us depending on how old they are, but we all know “tis’ better to give than to receive.” When we give, what we receive in return is heart-warming and just plain feels good. That “Thank You” or big smile just makes the day a better day overall. So, how can you find this time? Keep it simple!

Kids

--Put an “I love you” note next to their cereal bowl in the morning.
--For older kids when studying gets tough, bring their favorite snack to their room and give them a pat on the back for their efforts.

Hubby

--Put a sticky note on the bathroom mirror that says something sexy, sweet or both.
--The next time he leaves for a business trip, spray a cloth handkerchief with the perfume you wear most, put it in a Ziploc (so it doesn’t make his clothes smell like perfume!) and sneak it into his suitcase.

Girlfriends

--Cut a small bunch of flowers from the garden or blossoms from a tree in your yard and bring them to your friend.
--Keep a tub of small gifts on hand such as bath stuff and candles so that you have a quick way of remembering someone’s birthday.

Family

--Email pic’s once a week of the kids
--Stop off at the deli and pick up some tasty chicken soup to bring to a family member that has a bad cold

Enjoy your life!
POSTED April 16, 8:41 PM
Today, I took my six-year-old daughter out for tea.  We have a standing date each month for this ritual we both love.  I found today’s outing most enjoyable because of my daughter's natural authentic nature to Enjoy life.

She admired the teapots, cups and tablecloths.  She savored the scones, fruit sandwiches, etc..   I enjoyed this event so much more today, because  of Alexandra’s experience.  So, here is my query for you.  How might you be present and find joy in something that you do often?  Think about it.

I can’t wait to hear from you.

Mia

Accidents Happen
POSTED April 8, 10:44 PM
This evening my husband and I took two of our children to see “High School Musical.”  The play was a wonderful adaptation of the Disney version.  Upon the conclusion of the play my nine year old vomited all over the floor in front of him at the theater.  Of course, we comforted Patrick, our eldest, to help him feel better.

This experience reminds me that we are never in control of the events of life.  We had a wonderful evening and quality family time.  All seemed well and yet hours later my eldest son would be wrought with sickness.  On the ride home I thought about my son as he battled his wooziness in a moving vehicle.

I was glad that we had such a good time prior to Patrick getting sick.  I thought, “Accidents happen!”  I am glad that each moment that we have together we can find time to enjoy each other.  Life happens but isn’t it great to have special moments that serve as your Headline.  Think about it.

Live fully,

Mia
