Jarrett Min Davis: Survey of the Land - Opens Friday, May 16 at SBA Studios
POSTED May 14, 11:27 AM

There's a Billie Holiday song called "Strange Fruit,"about the lynching of African Americans in the Deep South. In a drawing of the same title by Korea-born artist Jarrett Min Davis, the dead bodies hang from a tree like shadows of Billie's voice. Davis's work loves to poke at native cultures, teasing old images into new relationships for unexpected meanings.
