Phil Macek treats every aspect of the Ravens--from the preseason to the last snap of the game--as if it's fourth and inches and the game's tied late in the fourth quarter. He'll keep you up to speed on all things Ravens.
You have to like Troy Smith's prospects for leading the Ravens this season. Kyle Boller, I'm sorry, but your erratic play and suspect leadership have worn out their welcome.
Time to go.
Joe Flacco, your job is to study and learn and learn and study. Your time is coming. Grab a clipboard and get comfortable.
While Troy is still a little green, he has the confidence to believe that he can lead the offense. I think he deserves the chance. He has a little seasoning (stress little here), and, more importantly, he's athletic and fits perfectly into the kind of offense Coach Harbaugh and Coach Cameron want to put on the field. Sure, there will be growing pains and mistakes--some of them egregious--but Smith should get the chance.
Maybe it's just me, but Kyle Boller was just not getting it done. At his worst, he embodied indecision and poor execution. Sometimes on the same play. And even with several seasons under his belt, I just don't see much development. I'm sure the defense felt like they had to score points every game to bail out the offense. And now that JO is retired, Smith's mobility could become crucial.
We'll have to see what the coaches decide, but here's one strong vote for Troy Smith. What do you think? Write in and let me know.

I don't think many people saw this coming. The benching of Donovan McNabb? Ed Reed's turning back the clock, especially on his NFL record 108-yard interception return? The utter humiliation of the Eagles? There were signs to be sure: Philly's... Read More Topics:

Let's cut right to the chase about the Ravens-Eagles game this weekend. In order to win, Baltimore has to forget about what happened last week in their letdown against the Giants. The Ravens are good enough to rally themselves to beat Donovan... Read More
It's not that Baltimore lost to the Giants. There's no shame in losing to the defending World Champs. The problem was the way in which the Ravens lost. They simply got their helmets handed to them. The Giants ran all over the defense--piling... Read More Topics:
