Withdrawing From Barack
POSTED July 8, 8:15 PM

I did McCain's flip-flops yesterday, so Barack Obama gets it today. I've always told people that I'm an equal opportunity satirist.

General Foolishness
POSTED July 1, 7:38 PM

The first panel is an actual quote from Obama supporter former General Wesley Clark talking about John McCain's combat record. So, I wonder, would he say the same thing about former presidents such as George H.W. Bush or J.F.K., who both had combat experience in some ways similar to McCain's? I don't remember him blasting John Kerry for it in 2004, do you?

Big-Bucks Obama

Phew!!! This color stuff is hard, even on cartoons that don't involve a whole lot visually!

Don't Forget to Yell, 'Timber!'
POSTED June 10, 6:47 PM

If the Democrats succeed in enacting a windfall profits tax on oil companies, it will inevitably backfire. The tax will get passed on to consumers in the form of even higher gas prices, which is the last thing America needs while it slogs through this tough economic spell. Mind you, I've never been a defender of the oil industry, but this isn't just bad business for Exxon Mobil -- it's bad business for ordinary Americans, too.

Update: On a whim, I colored the cartoon when I got home tonight. One of these days I'll figure out a way to streamline the coloring process so that I can do color cartoons for the print edition. One of these days...

Democratic Diplomacy
POSTED June 4, 7:12 PM

I'm not surprised Hillary hasn't conceded the nomination to Barack Obama, even though it's obvious to everyone that he's won. She's trying to use her political clout as leverage for a brokered peace: her as his running mate. Will Obama bite? If he's smart, he'll turn to somebody less divisive than a Clinton.

Spelling It Out for Hillary
POSTED June 2, 7:37 PM

So, now Hillary's claiming she should win because of the strength of her popular vote total. But how popular would she become if she wrests the nomination from Obama, who, by Democratic Party rules, appears like the likely victor? Obama is going to have a hard fight on his hands with John McCain in the general election, so if Hillary really wants to show she's not in this simply for petty, egotistic reasons, she should drop out.

Hillary's Campaign Song
POSTED May 21, 7:50 PM

Arrgghhh! I can't get this song out of my head!!! It's been repeating, repeating and repeating inside my skull ever since the cartoon idea first hit me! This might be even more obnoxious and aggravating than when "Livin' La Vida Loca" hit the airwaves. But you know, what? This is just what this Hillary Clinton cartoon is about. I looked up the lyrics to the song online, but I figured I'd use my own variation to amp up the repititiousness (is that a word?). OK, I'm going to go turn on the radio in the hope that a less-obnoxious song will displace the self-created abomination bouncing around inside my noggin.

The Writing on the Wall
POSTED May 7, 7:29 PM

To be honest, I'm getting a little tired of drawing Hillary cartoons, so I'm hoping she'll pull out of the race soon. Of course, she seems to occupy a plot neighboring President Bush's in Fantasyland, which means I'll likely be drawing more of her.

Hillary's Math
POSTED May 5, 6:46 PM

I noticed Hillary Clinton is still having trouble with her basic mathematics skills, so I drew this cartoon. Probably my favorite part is the "A+B=ABBA" written on the chalkboard. It's that kind of quirky detail in other cartoonists' work that often makes me laugh out loud. But, of course, I'm a cartooning geek.
