Wake Forest's top four scorers combined to outscore Winston-Salem, leading the Demon Deacons to an easy 76-52 victory over the Rams at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum Tuesday.
Ishmael Smith and C.J. Harris each scored 16 points, while Al-Farouq Aminu and Ari Stewart threw in 13 points apiece for Wake Forest (4-0), who led by as many as 29 points at one time. The Demon Deacons won their fourth straight over the soon-to-be Division II in-city rival. Using a distinct size advantage, Wake Forest dominated Winston-Salem 44-18 in the paint.
Brian Fisher led the Rams (1-4) with 12 points. Andrew Jackson added 11 points but scoring was hard to come by for his Rams, who had nine shots blocked while getting no swats of their own. They also shot just 32 percent from the floor.
