Another excellent post. I applaud the insight and effort to develop this video on cycling from a woman's perspective. It is really about safety, but we'll simply use that as the code word for fashion. If riding the Dutch bikes will get women on the roads then all the better. I recommend having 1 or 2 "geeky" flashing lights on the back of the bike really helps to make drivers be aware the cyclist is there, and they are taking their my own safety seriously.
Finally, on safety, I make myself quite visible, so if someone does hit me it'll be on purpose. And the solution to having lights that always work - rechargeable (AA or AAA) batteries.
