Earlier this week, a Japanese newspaper reported that North Korea is planning on launching their Taepodong-2, long-range missile, toward Hawaii between July 4-8. The missile however is not exptected to reach Hawaii due to the fact that the missile can only travel approximately 4,000 miles and fortunately, Hawaii lies 500 miles beyond that, but it would definitely give new meaning to the phrase, "and the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air".
This announcement is just one of several in the past few weeks that has had North Korea on front-page headlines. At the end of May, North Korea declared that it would no longer abide by the 1953 armistice (truce) that temporarily put an end to the Korean War, although it never officially ended that war. Last week, the U.N. members agreed to impose new sanctions against North Korea after the country's violation of previous sanctions when it conducted its second nuclear test on May 25, the first being back in 2006. This in turn caused North Korea to announce that it would step-up its efforts in its nuclear and atom-bomb making program. Finally, a few days ago, North Korea warned that it would retailiate "a thousand fold" if their sovereignty was threatened.
While this may just be a political power struggle or a bullying tactic, it still could have some serious consequences, if these threats were carried out. In fact a South Korean state-run paper is quoted by USA today as saying "the Korean peninsula is becoming an area where the chances of a nuclear war are the highest in the world." Couple all this with the fact that a cult of personality is centered around its"Eternal President" the late, Kim Il-Sung, and its current "Dear Leader", Kim Jong-Il and the fact that Kim Jong-Il is currently grooming his 26-year old son, Kim Jong-Un for leadership (which often times, young men tend to be more zealous than their fathers) and you have a recipe for an impending crisis.
In Matthew 24:6 we are warned by Jesus that before the time of the end, "[y]ou will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come." It cannot be denied that this situation with North Korea is at the very least a "rumor of war", which has the potential to escalate into something much more. Now some may argue that this world has always been plagued by wars and rumors of wars but Jesus goes on to say in verse 8 of chapter 24 that "...these are the beginning of birth pains." So as the time of the end moves closer, there will be an increase in number and intensity of these events, which is already evident by two world wars, millions upon millions deaths due to war, and the invention of nuclear technology, just to name a few. According to the Bible all of this will finally culiminate in the War to end all wars. Are you ready?

Rumors of wars? Sounds like something that happened a long time ago, before live satellite feeds and the like... Hard to maintain war rumors when the camera crew shows up and shows up expecting to to film it, no?! It's gonna be hard to pull off an "end times" scenario in this Information Age if "rumors of war" have to be part of the deal, don't you think?
The only way there is gonna be a "war to end all wars" is if there are no rumors of it. There is no way that the worlds superpowers are going to sit by and watch a legitimate threat escalate to that point. The only reason the US and many other countries havent wiped Kimberly and his country of the face of the earth is because they know that North Korea will do nothing as long as the whole world is against them and a nuclear war. Until they get some more allies, they arent that threatening.
Anyone can take a bible verse and match it to a current event and call it a "prophecy." This whole position is a joke. If it wasn't so silly it would be called fear mongering. Grow up already.
The false beginning is followed by a true end.
the bible? seriously?
I can write a book and "prophesize" random obscur crap too that, eventually, will happen. How about someone point out something in the bible that easily describes something that couldn't possibly be predicted or that isn't so ambiguous as to be able to relate to half of the worlds events. Oh, by the way the picture of Jared Rutledge looks quite similar to a monkey
Could somebody PLEASE nuke Mexico!?
Some statistics, rounded up.
United States:
3.8 million square miles
307 million people
9600 nuclear warheads with delivery system
Functioning intercept system
North Korea:
46,500 square miles
23.9 million people
4-13 possible atomic weapons, faulty delivery
No functioning intercept system
California:
163,000 square miles
37.7 million people
Compare the stats. California is almost four fold the size of North Korea with a larger population. I am not too worried about North Korea. Could they start a war? Yes. Would they lose given current technology. Yes.
I think our biggest concern is who North Korea is buddies with and who else could play into a nasty scenario. Given the limited resources of North Korea and statistics, we don't need to worry about them, just who else they are playing ball with. Sure, North Korea could start a war, but their country would die quickly without the outside humanitarian assistance provided it from the free world.
Im just worried that they are saying they may target Hawaii to throw us off another possible target much closer to them. Guam is US territory that houses two US bases. The people in Guam are U.S. Citizens and are within proximity of their missile range. I hope the Federal Government is looking at Guam as a possible N. Korea Target and is ready to defend the Island if such launch has taken place.
I take the Bible comments very seriously - the world is FULL of Sinfulness & everything that God commanded Moses to give to the people is laughed at. Homosexuality- Pornography- Prostitution- Stealing- Murder- Disrespect to parents- etc... It is No Wonder that God is going to allow Nuclear War to come.
Una mit Albeit, while it's true that you could write your own book predicting certain things, chances are you wouldn't have the accuracy that the Bible has. Do a little research, you might be surprised. Now, if you don't agree with Mr. Rutledge's viewpoint you can either stop reading his articles, keep your opinions to yourself, or challenge his way of thinking with some sort of respect. When you resort to making fun of the man based on his appearance it portrays you as ignorant, and make you look like the monkey.
How embarrassing that this crap comes out of Kansas City. Of course I'm certainly not surprised that the delusional fringe in this area just love to make fools of themselves, with this archaic garbage.
Educate yourself.
Try using that brain like you were meant to. Try forming an opinion of your own.
Oh, but you can't. The bible.....right.
Well, good luck with all that knuckle dragging you have ahead of you.
