He has been compared to the Messiah. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson endorsed him for president, saying he was "the kind of once-in-a-lifetime leader that can bring our nation together and restore America's moral leadership in the world."
Observers noted a “religious fervor” in his campaign rhetoric and have described his campaigning style as “mass messianism.” Oprah Winfrey Calls Obama "The One"
While having done nothing to bring about world peace and not even having been in office for yet two weeks, Barack Obama had been awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, causing reporters to gasp in amazement.
He thanked the Norwegians for the honor by snubbing the Nobel committee, the Norwegian people and their King. Despite having received the award, he would continue to prosecute the war in the Near East without a second thought.
Speaking of Barack Obama, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan stated,
You are the instrument that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn't care anything about. That's a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking.
Others have made comparisons between him and the long prophesied Antichrist. These comparisons range from the thoughtful to the downright silly. In one version, the author states:
According to The Book of Revelations the anti-Christ is: The anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent…
This is ludicrous for a number of reasons. To begin, there is no biblical book called “The Book of Revelations.” There is indeed a biblical book called “Revelation,” but it makes no case for a 40 year old Antichrist (the term “Antichrist” appears nowhere in the book of Revelation) nor does it describe anyone of the Muslim faith, the prophecies of the Apocalypse being written nearly 500 years before the advent of Islam.
Although given the rancorous tone of the 2008 election, a bit of hyperbole is to be expected, there are indications that Barack Obama has a political agenda that is much less than Christian. Such an anti-Christian political bent surely does not represent enough evidence to lead a reasonable individual to conclude that Obama is the one Christians call the Antichrist. Despite the foregoing, there are a number of mysterious circumstances surrounding Obama’s emergence on the national political scene.
The first irregularity encompasses the issue of whether or not Obama has a legal right to assume the Presidency. Anyone who should question his legitimate right to rule America due to this issue is smeared and labeled a “Birther.” To date, this issue has not been settled to the satisfaction of the American people. There is an image of a document which is alleged to be Obama’s actual birth certificate showing that he was born in Kenya. The question of Obama's legitimacy to hold the highest office in America refuses to go away and his simple denials without documentable refutation have done nothing to quell the concerns of the people.
A number of peculiarities surround the issue. Some images purported to be either original or forgeries of the document have been scrubbed from the internet. There is evidence that the President himself has made anomalous statements regarding the place of his birth. The issue is so confusing that even the President can’t seem to get his facts straight.
The state of Hawaii has even gone so far as to propose a law, preventing people from even inquiring about Obama’s birth records.
It’s not only Obama’s birth records which have been sealed but other records relating to his past. It seems as though Obama has much to hide. There are other irregularities surrounding Barack Obama including reports that his election campaign was financed surreptitiously.
Some suggest that Obama and his wife Michelle are similar in appearance to Pharaoh Akhenaten and his mother, Queen Tiye. These uncanny resemblance’s aside, is there any Biblical or historical information by which one might make a case for Obama being the one Christians have traditionally called, “the Antichrist?”
Clues to The identity of the Antichrist
We do have some information upon which to base tentative assumptions about this coming leader.
Revelation 13:1 Describes the rise of what some believe to be the final world leader, often called “Antichrist.”
We are told in Revelation 19:20 that he does not die, nor does his accomplice, but both are cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
In 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2, Paul addressed the fears of some in the church, who upon hearing rumors containing false teaching, became concerned as to whether they might have missed the return of our Savior and their gathering together to Him. In that address, Paul also wrote about the coming world leader, to whom we now refer generally as the “Antichrist”, calling him the “Man of sin” and “ son of perdition”.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition
In prayer, Christ himself used this phrase “son of perdition”, to describe Judas Iscariot, who upon receiving the spirit of Satan, betrayed Christ for a reward. (John 17:12) It would appear as though Satan, in yet another copycat episode, would enter into this Antichrist, just as he had entered into Judas, only this time, Judas would not be the follower, but would be the leader.
In Revelation 13:3, we are given a picture this leader having global dominance and we see what would appear to be an assassination attempt upon this “Antichrist.”
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
The question raised here is: Could Barack Obama be the beast which receives the deadly wound, only to be healed miraculously?

I think all politicians and preachers are anti-christs. Yourself included. If you wield power, you are probably in that "powers and principalities" club, Paul talked about.
Its comforting knowing I can't trust you or anyone else.
I find it interesting that you compared Obama to Ankhenaten, who is likely Moses. I don't care much for him either.
You're kidding right? That's the silliest thing I've ever heard.
For one thing, people have been calling people the "anti christ" for hundreds of years. Even Ronald Reagan was thought to be the "one" because his first, middle and last names all had six letters, i.e., 666 or the so-called mark of the beast.
Second, are you even aware that the Revelation of St. John, which was written on the island of Patmos, was penned in secret code? The 666 anti christ was a representation of emperor Nero who persecuted the Christians. The book is a puzzle that can't be understood without the code.
What s silly article, you should be ashamed for trying to frighten people instead of helping them support our President and bring this nation together.
These kinds of ridiculous ideas have been circulating around the internet since before the election. Scopes already called this rumor false. Why is this considered "news" for an Examiner to write about?
i'm so confused; i thought hillary clinton was the antichrist.
Anybody clueless to what the bible says First and foremost a woman CANNOT be the antichrist. The antichrist HAS to be a man, cause Jesus was a man!
@ Tom:
I do not know Scopes. Did you mean Snopes? If so, I should point out that Snopes is far from being the epitome of spiritual truth. You are free of course to so elevate them if you choose.
Also, I write commentary relative to Bible prophecy in addition to commenting on news stories which have relevance to believers. This is what I have done. Feel free to read the rest of the article before passing judgment.
@ Lori
Your suppositions hold no water.
The statement that the book of Revelation was penned in secret code in unsupported by fact.
Your statement that I am trying to frighten people is likewise, without foundation. If the truth is frightening then so be it. You are free to draw any conclusion you please but I am not responsible if your conclusions make you fearful.
As far as helping people support Obama and bring this nation together, I contend that he is working to tear this nation apart and I will have no part in supporting that.
Thank you for your visit.
@ RAmen,
You certainly have a great talent for reaching conclusions with little to work with. I did not compare Obama to Ankhenaten, I linked to a site that merely points out a resemblance. If Moses is indeed mentioned in the Egyptian annals, he is more likely Ramses. (RA-Moses)
And BTW, any state that begins with "probably" is bound to fail to be true. It merely illustrates the ignorance and prejudices of the speaker. Likewise with the preamble "I think."
You may indeed think, but until there is more evidence to support such a conclusion, I wouldn't make a rush to judgment.
@ TWJ,
It must be easy to simply make such statements. What an easy job the skeptics have. They need no reason, no thought or study. They remind me of children.
I'm sure there were similar individuals who mocked the Arab scholars who articulated the theory of pathogen borne disease. Such died of plague no doubt.
Sorry to disappoint, but it is common knowledge that Revelation was penned in code. Letters equaled words, for example, and 666 was code for Nero. This type of apocrypha was written, as I said before, because of the persecution of the Christians by Nero during the time John wrote Revelation.
Now, do not confuse this. Your words do not frighten me. I am firm in my faith. What you are trying to do is excite and frighten other readers by taking a lot of text from the Bible, jumbling it together with absolute junk that is NOT in the Bible and trying to make an anti christ of our good and humble President. I would remind you that the Bible clearly states anyone who takes its words oout of context will be severely punished.
so you read ancient hebrew and aramaic? kewl; there are dozens of academic experts who would love to have a definitive translation they could all agree on.
Lori said: Sorry to disappoint, but it is common knowledge that Revelation was penned in code.
Common knowledge? Please! It was common knowledge about 500 years ago that the Earth was flat. Your argument for Bible codes is nothing more than unsupported nonsense. Perhaps you could quote some scripture to prove your point?
You accuse me of a motivation in error. I am simply pointing out certain evidences. Your conclusion is yours alone. This study is indeed difficult for the simple of mind to grasp.
As far as your good and humble President is concerned, he is a world leader. His love is not of the things of the spirit but of the things of this world. Consider the following verse:
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
As far as taking the Bible out of context, I have not done so but it seems as though you have. Scripture pl
@ Laughing Chimp,
I imagine you read ancient Aramaic and Hebrew? If so, please elucidate us all.
no, i do not; neither does anyone else. which is why i and most honest scholars accept that the bible is the result of numerous translations and rewrites of what began as oral traditions; not inspired faultless words of god, especially in english translations.
heck, scholars cannot even agree on the precise 10 commandments.
Laughing Chimp,
Have you any comment relative and or relevant to this study?
certainly: i think the antichrist is a fantasy, used by people of evil intent to rile up the ignorant against whichever political leader they happen to oppose at the moment. for every piece of 'evidence' that obama is the antichrist, others have provided 'evidence' that it was hillary clinton or bush II or reagan or nixon or hitler or...
you debunk others on obama, but then attempt to libel him through the backdoor with your own unique interpretation of an ancient book of fables and fantasies ... discrediting any legitimate criticisms of obama you might have.
To the laughing chimp.
It is very easy to be a skeptic. It takes no special skill nor learning of any kind. Just label anything with which you disagree a fantasy and youre off the hook. What a luxury!
I am persuaded to believe that when people have no foundation for their system of belief, they can convince themselves of anything.
Well did the apostle Paul note in Titus 1:15 that:
"Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled."
Your last quote of scripture is, again, out of context and so general as to relate to anything or anyone. Here's some information that may help you. www.religioustolerance.org
An Evangelical Christian theologian, P.N. Benware, describes three approaches that theologians have used to understand Revelation:
Allegorical approach: The events in Revelation will not happen literally. They are to be interpreted figuratively and symbolically. This approach leads to a great variety of conflicting scenarios.
Historical approach: Most of the events in Revelation have already happened, perhaps during the persecution of Christians during the reign of Emperors Nero or Domitian before Christianity was tolerated early in the 4th century CE.
Futuristic approach: This is the approach taken by almost all fundamentalists and other evangelical Christians. The events in Revelation have yet to occur, but are anticipated in our very near future.
"The Gazette"
At the time that the Book of Revelation was written (probably ca. A.D. 90 during the reign of the Roman emperor Domitian), it was not safe to be a Christian. John, the author, therefore wrote to the terrorized Christians, using a code language. By employing symbolic, poetic, and at times bizarre and frightening images, John tries to get across his message of hope, namely that the forces of evil of the present will be ultimately overcome by the victory of the good.

Finally, here's a piece of scripture I'd pay particular attention to were I you:
Revelation 22:18: "If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. (See De 4:2 12:32). The whole spirit of the Scripture is against adding to or taking from the Lord's words. This is a warning against spurious revelations."
"People's New Testament"
The Antichrist might not be a person but another celestial body returning to our solar system; intriguing that this article alludes to such extraterrestrial theories (my edits):
Most persuasive evidence was relationship with the starsparticularly the constellation of Orion
"The names changed over time been the basis of sun worship under guise of host of heaven, sun, moon and stars since antiquity. tower of Babel was astronomical observation platform for veneration of heavenly bodies even now bear names of men of renown.'"
The Childress reference is terrific research; the name Marduk is an extremely useful lead it seems Ra/Marduk refer to the same god/planet.
For those posting comments try looking beyond ONLY the Bible see: Robert S. Harrington, U.S. Naval Observatory and The 12th Planet by Zechariah Sitchin.
Still, much about Obama does make one wonder after all, he did promise transparency; what of the Masonic connection to the retaking of the Oath?
DC Freethought Examiner,
I naturally believe the Antichrist is indeed an individual although I would not be surprised to see Sitchins Nibiru appear sometime after that. My understanding (feeble though it may be) is that Marduk is associated with Mars.
It is interesting that believers often ignore extra-Biblical references which could aid their understanding of mysterious scriptures. Some exclude history as well. Although I work to base my observations upon the Bible, some are critical when extra-Biblical sources are included in such a study. This is like ignoring the dictionary because it is not the Bible.
I certainly do not make the claim that Obama is the long prophesied Antichrist, only that he does indeed share some expected characteristics one might expect of the Antichrist and that much mystery surrounds his past.
Thanks for your insightful comments.
Lori,
You have made the judgment that my interpretation is akin to adding to the scriptures and yet, you quote non Biblical sources that have done the same thing. Forgive me if I detect a hint of hypocrisy.
You are free to believe the traditions of men and all the teachings that go with them. You do remind me of those people caught up in the pre-tribulation rapture cult. They quote myriad sources to support a doctrine that is unsupported by a plain reading of the scripture.
You can believe these sources if you please, I will trust my Bible and the Spirit which guides me.
Not everyone is ready or able to hear the message.
Thank you for your visit.
TWJ,
You are banned from posting for a while. Your banishment is only for a season. I imagine you will keep posting and I will keep deleting. It's really no trouble at all.
Do not be taken in by the illusion that I care one way or another. I just believe it is only right to do so.
Peace ; )
Craig said, "This is ludicrous for a number of reasons. To begin, there is no biblical book called 'The Book of Revelations.' There is indeed a biblical book called 'Revelation'..."
Actually, Crain, the correct title of this book (according to the oldest extant manuscripts including the Codex Sainiticus) is "The Revelation of the Theologian." The shortening of the name to just "Revelation" is an of late affectation used in modern biblical translations.

The Codex Sinaiticus is a corrupt version IMO. Also, you have chosen an extremely picayune portion of this study with which to find fault. Is that the best you can do?
It is gratifying to know that my studies upset you so.
You are motivated and deceived by that which you cannot perceive.
You fight against that which you do not believe.
How hopeless is your cause.
Hi Craig. I'n not surprised that YOU see the Codex Sainiticus as "corrupt." This seems to be typical of the dismissals you employ whenever your personal conspiracy theories don't line up with the historical evidence. As for why I chose to focus on this particular error on your part, I just wanted to point out the hypocrisy in the tone which you tend to take with any of your readers who dares to disagree with your often baseless assertions.

Sir,
Are you so devoid of a life that your only goal is to take juvenile, anonymous snipes at people? If you are as smart as you so obviously believe yourself to be, why not find a venue to show your brilliance to the world?
Perhaps you are a teenager with a poor self image? Why not spend your time doing something productive? Is it that you have not the self esteem or is it a lack of talent? Maybe you could get an education and make something of yourself instead of taking cheap shots from the grassy knoll.
I know that work is hard to find these days, especially for the unskilled and under educated, but why not at least try to better yourself and find some useful function in society?
Are you crying for help? Is it pity you seek?
There is a link at the bottom of the article. It says "become an Examiner." Why not try to find a niche and use your personal frustrations to start writing. You may find it to be therapeutic. Perhaps you could help other lonely people like yourse
I think that it is interesting, Craig, that you accuse me of lacking education, when in fact I was pointing our a factual error in your treatment of the subject of biblical scholarship. And while I am sure that you would prefer it if I would just go away and leave you to preach your factually inaccurate conspiracy theories, I simply cannot resist the entertainment of watching the histrionics which inevitably follow whenever someone points out a flaw in one of your articles. But more importantly, I think that you make a useful tool in the education of others regarding certain subjects. Your treatment of this subject matter is demonstrative of the fundamental (if you will pardon the pun) irrationality of a certain style of religious belief, and thus I find a very practical sort of value in leaving my comments, here.
This is a little off the subject, but I believe after fulling searching into alot of history, the Freemasonry is responsible for bringing about the New World Order, they built Washington DC, and helped print the US dollar, course they had to listen to Satan of which they are full of evil just like him.
Norma Jean,
Freemasonry is just one group responsible for bringing about the New World Order. It is interesting that they also had a hand in bringing us the King James Bible. They did this to expose the Church of Rome, who tried to ruin their order (The Knights Templar) 300 years earlier. God used them to bring his Word to the English speaking people. Over the years, they have been infiltrated by the illuminants and have absorbed their evil influence.
Few realize that the Roman numerals at the base of the pyramid on the reverse of the Great Seal of the United States, do not commemorate the Declaration of American Independence on July of 1776, they commemorate the founding of the Bavarian Illuminati on May 1st, 1776. The obverse shows an eagle in the form of the Phoenix, which symbolizes their plan of bringing order out of chaos ("ordo ab chao"). The thirteen stars above the head of the Phoenix, are in the shape of a six pointed star, the hexagram.
@Blackout,
I absolutely hope you do not go away. I am completely amused by your comments! LOL!
Thank you for your visit!
To The Writer of this article:
The Book of Revelation and Revelation are the SAME BOOK. Some versions just shorten the official name of the book of Revelation to Revelation. DON'T GET CONFUSE just because your versioin (if you have a bible) uses the name Revelation. The Official name of the book is The Book of Revelation.
