Thirteen more Christians were killed Wednesday in the in central Nigerian village of Byie. Witnesses have reported that some of the victims' tongues had been cut out. The attackers entered the Christian village about 2 a.m., setting homes on fire as their attackers waited with machetes to kill those fleeing from the flames. The victims included two children. This attack took place a week after hundreds of Christians were killed in the central Nigerian town of Jos.
Only days ago, a video was released by the online jihad forum group Ansar Al-Mujahideen, which called for more violence against Christians in Nigeria.
The Arabic language video made the statement that “jihad” (holy war) against Nigerian Christians is the only reasonable answer to address a growing Christian influence in the country. 15 homes were destroyed in the latest flare of violence.
In an attempt to pose as an African peacemaker, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has told a group of students that Nigeria should be divided in two to solve the problem of religious violence in Nigeria, according to Jana, Libya's state news agency. Nigerian diplomatic figures have dismissed the proposition.
And while mainstream Christian "leaders" preach "peace and safety" in their unscriptural pre-tribulation rapture doctrine, more believers are facing tribulation in Africa.
It is yet another sign of the times in which we live.
